Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

Yeah, I'm sick and tired of dragging out relationships and never moving on to marriage. I say give us teen Helena so we can have a new Robin, too.

That's what I was hoping for with Huntress in the BOP movie, that she was Bruce and Selina's daughter. Of course, I knew that WB would never have the guts for that.

Idea being, apparently, that she was his ex-wife and she'd retired from being Catwoman to be a rich art dealer. But she and Bruce would reconcile over the course of the Justice League multi-part story.

I loved her in the "haunting on hill house", and I like the Idea to have a older woman as a hero.

When Affleck was first cast and I realized they deliberately wanted an Older Batman, and then I saw that they cast an actor of the similar age range for Joker (Jared Leto is 48) it made me realize "Wait, that means we need an older woman for Selina if she shows up".

I mean, the folks who wanted someone like Eiza Gonzalez didn't stop to realize that she'd look more like Batman's daughter and wouldn't fit his "20 years in Gotham" thing.

I head-casted either Kate Beckinsale, Charlize Theron or Rosamund Pike. But Carla fits too, and she's part of Snyder's Production posse as she was in Sucker Punch and Watchmen.

And the overall Age-Up of the Batman characters is kind of funny considering they de-aged Alfred a bit.

I don't mind casting younger/older people for roles myself but I get the feeling that WB wouldn't have cast MEW as Bruce's daughter, unfortunately.

Speaking of which, I hope we get more Birds of Prey. It's easily the best film from DC since Batman Returns and I'm dying for more of it's wild, sapphic power.

Carl Gugino would have been awesome as an older Selina Kyle. That is the most interesting bit of information I heard about Snyder's plans.
He has a plan for JL 2 if this does well.
Meh, he can plan all he wants, doesn't mean WB is actually going do it.

Very interesting.

Yeah, she'd still need to be a teenager at least.

We could've gotten Helena as Robin, though!

Of course, given what happened to her predecessor I'm sure it would've taken a LOT of persuading from Selina and Helena for Bruce to permit that.

We still can! Imagine Bruce having a near death experience in JL that leads him to the doorsteps of Selina's nice house in a nice neighborhood. He begs for her and Helena to give him another shot. Hell of a post-credits scene.

there is no way that Zack Snyder gets another DC film. His other ones pretty much failed, he couldn't even get a billion dollars out of the first meeting of Superman and Batman and all the stuff has been critically destroyed. Warner Brothers is banking on some loud, whiny Fanboys making the snydercut worthwhile, which I think it's going to end up being a waste of money for them, especially at the reported price tag. DC films in general have left Snyder behind, all their greatest recent successes have been by ignoring his stuff/style.

as for who he would have cast to do what, it would have been crap regardless. In a world were a better person was making the DC Universe films, I'd be interested in seeing a Batman and Catwoman where the will they/won't they has been resolved and they're together, but then being divorced is honestly lame, and feels more like a Frank Miller move, which to be fair does make sense for Snyder.

Regardless, Snyder isn't going to be doing anything else, so doesn't really matter.

Snyder clearly has his fans, and they are very loyal. Thus there is a bare minimum that a Snyder movie would make, no matter how much everyone else hates it. That kind of minimum value is something studios like. I can see Snyder getting more movies, but with a smaller budget.

Meh, Miller made Selina into a fat depressed alcoholic madam of an Escort Service, this at least sounds more intriguing than THAT.

Combine the two! Selina and Helena leave Bruce because he's gone unhinged. Selina runs a successful, legalized brothel. Bruce returns and cries in front of them, something that shocks them into giving him a second chance. Voila!

Ok, you got me on that one. I had pushed Miller's intense desire to make Selina a prostitute out of my mind (Catwoman being a prostitute was one of the things even DC retconned out of continuity back when Miller's Year One story was kind of considered semi-canonical), and while I think Zach Snyder would 100% make Catwoman a prostitute if 1) Warner brothers let him and 2) he felt like it, the fact is it almost certainly wouldn't get that bad, even if we lived in the alternate universe where he was allowed to make that movie.

I guess the only thing Frank Miller has over Snyder is that Miller's Batman, for as terrible as he is, would never use a gun, while Snyder's Batman literally massacres people with machine guns.

I had that as a kid. It might still be in a box at my parents' house (though it'll be quite some time before I can check with the COVID border restrictions at the moment).
Me too. I was totally fascinated by Captain Marvel after reading about him in a book called "All In Color For A Dime" and was thrilled when DC came out with the Shazam title.

I think the total opposite. Studios don't like minimum value of anything. Lately, it's go big or go home, and many actors complain about this because smaller movies are ignored for big Marvel sized ones.

Some Snyder quotes regarding the return of the Joker...

On his look changing:

“I wanted to of course honor what had been created with him because I thought it was really cool. But also in this, I’m not going to tell you what happens in the little scene, but some water has gone under the proverbial bridge between when last we saw Joker and this appearance. So he’s made some…he’s a road-weary Joker, I guess that’s a way of saying it.”

On bringing the Joker back:

“I will say that he [Leto] was really gracious with his entertaining my idea. And I told him it was a thing that I had felt like even when I was working on Justice League in London, I felt like it was an inevitable course that the movie had to take. So when I told him it was a thing that I’d been kicking around in my head for quite a while, I feel like he just kinda warmed up to the idea that was kind of an inevitable thing that kind of has to happen. I am grateful and I am forever in debt to his kindness for doing it.”

Am I crazy, or does it kind of sound like he's going to kill off the Joker?
