The argue at the dinner, the maudlin crap comes when they kiss and make up at the end of the episode. Is it more maudlin crap where they get all weepy over how much they mean to each other and how wonderful and close all their relationships are?

Except the final conversation wasn't needed. At some point we gotta just let the drama win. Any injuries the bot couldn't have coped with would have made their final conversation implausible
Ummmmmm I swear they mention the difficulties of a Human/Trill joining.........or did you want Riker name dropped specifically? No reference to Riker carrying a host around in TNG. I don't know if this is just further delegitimizing that episode, or a sign of the unreliability of information in the 32nd century, or we just have to chalk it up to Riker ("William Odan?") being a temporary, emergency host and not a long-term one like Adira was.
Dax had nine lives over the course of about 360 years. Tal had seven over the course of about 800 years, judging by the Picard Era uniform. Not out of the question if we assume some long lives (perhaps Old Man Senna was 300 when he died). Just an observation.

Of course it was.In fact, Grey dying at all wasn't needed.
Maybe they lost their EMH program and had to settle for a 3rd rate medical robot? That was a really really incompetent 31st century medical robot...
