Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

Prime Minister Almec told Obi-Wan Jango was a common bounty hunter, but given the situation on Mandalore there is no reason to think he was telling the truth.

George Lucas flat-out said that Jango and Boba weren't Mandalorian by birth, and nothing about their behavior matches the Mandalorian Creed as we've seen it defined by The Mandalorian series.

Who says mass-release is the 'proper' way for media to be marketed?
Or you could watch it week-to-week like everybody else is.
I prefer weekly releases to all at once, I have a short attention span and watch a lot of different stuff, so it takes me a while to get through shows. With the one a week release I can actually keep up with the conversations a lot more easily, and I don't have to worry about avoiding spoilers.
I prefer the more immersive experience, settling down and banging out an entire series in a day or two as, for me, it brings the universe to life and I can follow story threads and pick up on more details when I'm "in the moment" rather than having to try and remember what happened previously.

In my eyes, its a more rewarding experience and is why I much prefer tv shows as opposed to movies as there is more time to really get into the story and character and when watched immediately one after the other then it tells the story that is intended.

But IDIC.

I've tried the whole binging thing and it isn't for me. It's emotionally exhausting and ultimately unfulfilling because there's just so much going on.

Mileage will vary but binging was just...:barf2:

Has Disney never heard of binging?
Weekly releases actually are becoming increasingly popular on the streaming services. Even Amazon, which had previously been almost exclusively whole season same day release is now moving to weekly release with their higher profile shows like The Boys and The Expanse.
Temuera Morrison appearing doesn't automatically equal Boba Fett despite what a lot of the Internet seems to be saying,
I mean, there was an official press release saying he's playing Boba Fett this season, and that's usually the sort of thing you stand behind 1000%

* This episode has also made me really curious as to how Cobb ended up with parts from Anakin's podracer

It doesn't literally have to be parts from Annie's pod racer. Annie had to get those parts from somewhere to begin with. Most likely those parts were originally mass produced.

Hmm. I apparently missed The Hollywood Reporter confirming that Morrison was returning specifically as Boba.

I like appointment tv. It makes something special again. When everything is available all the time, nothing is special.

See "Wizard of Oz."

(Ask any kid back from when it was on ONCE a year, and if you missed it, sucks for you.)

A minor complaint, but I kind of wish the dragon had been a different color. To me it didn't have enough visual contrast with all the sand. TV is a visual medium, and I like to see more than a bunch of beige.

Episode 02x01!

These episodes have nice simple plots, so there's not much to cover there, but I have to say, as the episode went on I become more disappointed in the "hunting of the Dune Sandworm" story. To me the rationale for hunting and killing it is thin...it lives in the deep desert, it seemed to hardly ever come out, the "Marshal" suggests it will come ever closer to the town but there is no evidence for this. Apparently, the landing of Mando made it come out of its cave? In any case, I found it a bit distasteful.

The episode itself, the rallying of the two separate forces for the "common good" (such as it was) was entertaining, with some admirable points. The series continues to impress with visuals, BUT again: desert planet. Tattoine...AGAIN. Somewhat boring. I would like to see a lot more creativity on this point.

Rating: 7/10, mainly for the entertainment factor.

The only reason they went back to Tatooine was to set up Boba Fett, so now that that's done, I doubt we'll see it again, at least for a while.

You mean besides it plowing straight through town knocking down vaporators and eating cattle in the process?
Everyone seemed really surprised...like it was the first time.....as suggested because of Mando's ship landing. So really, they did not establish any sort of continued danger at all.

Mando didn't fly his ship anywhere near the village. in fact, when he suggested it, he was told that would just make the dragon burrow deeper into the ground.
