I'm thinking 2021 is going to be pretty light.

Just Prodigy and Short Treks.

Lower Decks
is written, but how far along are they on animating it? And with the "AR Walls" they should be able to insure a safe environment, but who knows when Picard is going to start shooting.

I’m optimistic about at least some new live-action Trek next year. All Access needs it too desperately.

So far it looks like Season 3 is hitting the right notes with people here. It's gearing up to become the best season yet provided it doesn't go off the rails.

The less evil A.I. and fewer overt Section 31 references the better.

I hope you’re right about the season being the best yet, but I wouldn’t call this ep’s score strong by forum standards.

Personally, I preferred the equivalent part of season two to what we’ve gotten so far.

As far as I know CBS All Access has always had the Cage but frustratingly to me not the remastered Cage (I had to buy the blu-ray Star Trek Origins for that as I wasn't really willing to get a TOS Box set just for the remastered Cage)
It was not on CBSAA when If Memory Serves came out

Are you going to get all the people together during a pandemic for something that likely doesn't draw subscribers to the service?
Good point. On the other hand, if people is already together because they’re filming the main series...

As far as Picard goes, doesn't it start filming after Strange New Worlds? If so, that'll put it squarely in 2022.
Correct

I seem to remember they are planning for a spring 2021 release.

but who knows when Picard is going to start shooting.
Shooting period has been announced a few days ago...late spring 2021, shooting seasons 2 and 3 back to back.

By the way, I guess they’ll also want to release Lower Decks season 1 internationally before season 2...

According to this screenshot from a different thread PIC starts filming a month earlier than SNW

Comparison: That Hope is You Part 1 and Far From Home with Under The Night/An Affirming Flame
Obviously, That Hope is You Part 1 and Far From Home are separate stories, whereas Under The Night/An Affirming Flame is a two part premiere (much like The Vulcan Hello/Battle of the Binary Stars).

The situations of Burnham and Discovery and the Andromeda Ascendant are different. Dylan and Rommie didn't expect 300 years to pass as they got close to the black hole. The only similarity is that there is a battle before the time travel occurs. (Maybe Andromeda would have been better with a season prior to the 300 jump showing the Commonwealth as it was before it fell?)

Both Burnham and Saru are different to Dylan Hunt. Nor can we really compare the Discovery and Eureka Maru crews nor Rommie with the Sphere Data.

Gerentex and Zarah? They're also different.

A Jedi craves not these things.
I don't think Luke realized just how far Yoda takes that line. They're not even supposed to crave going out on a date or having attachments to droids (Obi-Wan tried to pressure Anakin into mindwiping R2 during the Clone Wars). If I were Luke I would have just fled from the Jedi and never looked back. Besides, Lando and Wedge were able to destroy the Death Star 2 with Vader and the Emperor on it just fine.

Well, Luke was supposed to learn from the Jedi mistakes.
