I deliberately chose the Click Me! Twitter link because the Youtube video(s) are not available internationally, only in the US and Canada.
I know, but I refuse to post US/Canada geoblocked stuff. Partly because I can’t watch it - I prefer to not blindly post stuff I can’t even watch. It’s just not my style. If those who CAN watch the videos want to post them they’re always free to do so.
Amusing. I think Cole Porter had the right idea on the "tomayto/tomahto" debate -- "Let's call the whole thing off!" I will note, however, that Stewart sounds terrible, almost as bad as he did in his final assertion that "There. Are. FOUR. Lights!" And he's five years younger than my dad, and EIGHT years younger than John Williams (the composer, not the guitarist).
Voices change/get weaker with age, it’s a natural thing. He’s been having voice issues for a long time tho, I remember how he constantly had to fight not to lose it when he was doing heavy theater work over a decade ago, and sometimes he did lose his voice completely and doctors kept telling him to take it easy but, of course, being the stubborn guy that he is... yeah. It’s a thing for him, and his advancing age simply doesn’t help with it. (And there’s the fact that he talks a lot... because he likes to talk a lot.)
I do find it hilarious that they deliberately give him the most outrageous lines just to hear him say them. I think he’s said he’s only refused twice to say a line they gave him.
Oooh, shiny - this is one for the Star Trek fans: PATRICK STEWART AND SONEQUA MARTIN-GREEN TO ACCEPT LEGACY AWARD FOR “STAR TREK” FRANCHISE
Sir Patrick and his Young Artist Academy Lifetime Achievement Award: (Full award ceremony video here)
And here we have a super cute picture: (x) Also, he voiced his support for Elliot Page and I'm very happy about this:
Sir Patrick just won the Best Actor in a Sci-Fi series Critics Choice Award for Star Trek: Picard. (x)
Sir Patrick did a long interview with Gold Derby, and you can watch the video here. He talks about PIC, Shakespeare, TNG, driverless cars, jigsaw puzzles... the whole package.
