The Sir Patrick Stewart Topic

I deliberately chose the Click Me! Twitter link because the Youtube video(s) are not available internationally, only in the US and Canada. ;)

But you know some people won't click on a blind link, so it can never hurt to put up a YT link.

I know, but I refuse to post US/Canada geoblocked stuff. Partly because I can’t watch it - I prefer to not blindly post stuff I can’t even watch. It’s just not my style. If those who CAN watch the videos want to post them they’re always free to do so. :)

Amusing. I think Cole Porter had the right idea on the "tomayto/tomahto" debate -- "Let's call the whole thing off!"
I will note, however, that Stewart sounds terrible, almost as bad as he did in his final assertion that "There. Are. FOUR. Lights!" And he's five years younger than my dad, and EIGHT years younger than John Williams (the composer, not the guitarist).

Voices change/get weaker with age, it’s a natural thing. He’s been having voice issues for a long time tho, I remember how he constantly had to fight not to lose it when he was doing heavy theater work over a decade ago, and sometimes he did lose his voice completely and doctors kept telling him to take it easy but, of course, being the stubborn guy that he is... yeah. It’s a thing for him, and his advancing age simply doesn’t help with it. (And there’s the fact that he talks a lot... because he likes to talk a lot.)

I loved that scene, still one of my favourite in all of StarTrek, he's just so powerfull in it.

Sir Patrick will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award (in a digital ceremony, of course). :)

Legendary stage, film, and television actor Sir Patrick Stewart will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by longtime friends and “cast family” Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Sir Ian Mckellen (Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Richard III), and Star Trek franchise owner/creator Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry (Star Trek: Picard, Discovery, Next Generation).
