Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Anyone here knowledgeable about household items? I discovered my sponge mop is no longer made. People are selling the refills on eBay for five times the original cost. If a sponge mop uses Type S, does that mean it can use any brand's Type S refill?

I would assume so.

If I were you, I'd see this as a time to go too a higher form of mop tech and don't look back.

I've twisted and squeezed in my time w/ mops...but today is another day. Upgrade.

Insanity at the DMV: My husband's grandmother was so short she had to look through the steering wheel to drive (very limited field of vision) and they gave her a driving license. My mother-in-law had macular degeneration in both eyes and she could barely see anything and they gave her a driving license. The family had to finally take away their car keys to stop them from vehicular homicide/suicide. This came to mind because today I saw an old lady driving like grandma did, peering through the steering wheel. Scary deja vu.

I understand this completely. I finally had to hide the keys from Mom. It wasn't pretty for about a month, but then...

Everyone is free to send their unwanted rains to California USA, especially southern California. This morning a brush fire started about 6:47 this morning has now spread to over 2,000 acres. Mandatory evacuations are now underway for 60,000 residences and the 241 toll road has been closed as the fire jumped over it. We're currently experiencing Santa Ana winds (30-40 mph with gusts to 65mph and isolated gusts to 80 mph) and all air support has been grounded. Good news is it is much cooler with temps in the mid 60's.

Fortunately, I'm about 12 miles south of the fires and the winds are blowing west.

We haven't had real measurable rain in AZ in months. This year we set the record for the most consecutive days over 100 degrees, and almost every one of those days we set a record high.
