What eventually happens to Nhan?

How could Nhan be in Starfleet if in TNG we learn that the Barzans were only moderately advanced and did not have manned FTL travel?

Nhan could have applied to Starfleet independently like Saru did, or it could have happened differently.
If the Barzans were aware of the Federation or the Federation had some dealings with them before, individuals who express interest in joining Starfleet could probably still apply.
And also, it looks good for the future of that species maybe joining the Federation someday as it demonstrates through those Starfleet officers that the species CAN co-exist with others if given a chance to prove it.

The Bajorans for example were pretty much almost stripped of their technology due to the Cardassian occupation... however, they were FTL capable before that time and plenty of Bajorans were in Starfleet.
From a certain point of view, the Bajorans were during the occupation a pre-warp species, and also only had impulse ships...but no Warp capable ships (as it was pointed out in TNG episode with Ro Laren).

Bottom line is... its not unprecedented.
Some alien species may not be part of the Federation or Warp capable, but still have sufficiently advanced to come in contact with other alien species and learn about the Federation for example or individual members managed to get extracted because they desired it.
In that sense, the policy of Prime Directive applies, but the Federation is unlikely to ignore a cry for help should they receive it... at the very least, they would investigate and then determine if they can provide assistance or not.

Particularly in the TOS era, even in the 23rd century the Barzans had to have been centuries ahead of the Capellans where our heroes were negotiating mining rights.

I noticed the ship she visited was bigger on the inside..... Seems that 31st Century time pod technology from Enterprise was used here. The seed ship seemed way bigger on the inside.

It may have been a small ship, but it didn't seem too small considering the size of the windows and overall detail we saw when the camera was showing the inside of the ship through one of the windows (which could have been in the middle of the ship or elsewhere).

It could have been multiple decks high... about 9 decks tall from the visual of the vault. Remember that the USS Discovery is a pretty big ship (about 24 decks tall)... bigger than the TOS Enterprise even.
The Tikhov in comparison is much smaller. So, it can get away with having about 9 decks and fits into Disco's secondary hull (at its thickest).

I hope Ms. Ancheril gets to revisit her character. If not this season currently underway, then in the one about to start recording footage.

Still weird that she just left the show after being in the opening credits for a couple of episodes. Seems like she was really enjoying Star Trek too.

I'm sure Rachael did have a good time on DSC. She's always had some great things to say about it on Twitter. I see no indication that she wasn't enjoying doing the show. I mean, it's like Jason Isaacs - he was only on DSC for a year but he had a hell of a good time doing it and he's said he'd be up for a return (as Prime Lorca). So I can only assume it was the same with Rachael.

But she's been doing a lot of other shows lately (like Mary Kills People and Nurses) so that's probably why she had to take some time off from playing Nhan.

I call for the Nhan-mination of the continuation of the Nhan-sense in this thread.

Someone please second this recomi-Nahan-dation.

Otherwise we'll be Nhan-thing but bored till the coming of the actual Nhan episode.

There's Nhan-thing more that needs to be said.
:techman:
