I don’t care how ridiculously OP that silly Red Angel suit is, it wouldn’t survive that.Time travel is believable. Fender bender in space with a shielded ship and red angel suit......I DRAW THE LINE!!!!![]()

Pretty much my thoughts. Although it's visually gorgeous.Weird mix of violence and unfunny comedy. Some really stiff dialogue, too, and way more theatrical displays of emotion than I needed. But I liked the guy playing Book (and his cat), and the futuristic design work was nice. I liked looking at what was on the screen more than I enjoyed the story being told.
You’d think that dude at the end could have done something more productive with 40 years than sit there hoping someone would show up. And when someone does, his main concern is getting a commission and hanging a flag?
Overall, a pretty tepid opener. But at least there’s no threat to life, the universe and everything ... so far.
They need to explain this Temporal War better because from watching Doctor Who we know how dangerous they can be.
were people just fighting to get their hands on the tech or were they fighting through time?

You forgot something. Immediately before this, from her POV, she was in the middle of a huge battle in "Such Sweet Sorrow". She had to have some type of shields. Shields that wouldn't have gone out until right after she hit Book.I do find it a bit silly Michael survived a head on collision with a starship. She would be squished like a bug.
Worst episode of star trek ever?Terrible. The worst episode of Trek ever!
It felt like I was watching season 5 of Andromeda when they ruin6ed the format and had awful planet based stories. If I wanted to watch a Star Wars show I'd subscribe to Disney plus.
Has Burham got temporal narcosis? Why does she keep screaming like a banshee? The only good thing about it was the SFX and the still come on this season teaser.
Very disappointed, but hopefully it'll improve. I can't imagine it can be any worse.
If it's not the Omega Particle, then something directly connected to the Temporal War or its immediate aftermath could've caused The Burn. The timing is just way too close to be a coincidence. The Burn happened 100-150 years ago (3038-3088), which is of course, Daniels' time. Whether he exists or not is immaterial, the Federation at that time (which *was* around until after the Burn, and apparently still exists in pockets) was previously involved in Temporal Wars, so the society was probably a lot like Daniels' Federation.
Time travel was outlawed after the Temporal Wars. But... you can time travel quite easily via a warp-capable starship (see: Assignment: Earth, Star Trek IV, etc.). So what better way to outlaw time travel than to get rid of warp drive? I think the Federation, or at least the Time Corps, is still around and was responsible for the Burn. They're "protecting the timeline" by keeping all technology down and maintaining a close eye on what's going down throughout the Quadrants.
They have a hands-off approach, but of course, they're going to get involved when they find some errant time travelers from the olden, old days are skulking about. Fine, go ahead and restart the Federation if that's your wont. But the minute someone tries to "return to their old time" is the minute the Time Corps will come busting in to shut that whole operation down.
We know Book's backstory well enough, but be wary of any new characters with vague backgrounds. That's your temporal spy. I'm calling it before we even meet them.
Terrible. The worst episode of Trek ever!
