TNG fans please identify yourselves ...

Hi All,

Long time fan here. I remember watching episodes on Space during my university days. I've just been watching the new Picard series and just felt I needed to watch the whole TNG series again which makes me appreciate how great the quality of writing was. I have my issues with the new trek but lol there are some things I did like seeing (Data). Reading some of the threads here has really sparked my interest again! Looking forward to more discussions here and sharing my thoughts!

Hi TrekTee! Welcome aboard! Re-watching TNG is always a great idea in my book! ;)

Hi!
I'm under eighteen. :)
I first watched Star Trek before I watched Star Wars so I'm a big fan of Star Trek Next Gen.
I first watched TNG when I was eight. My sisters and I used to wonder who the bald British guy (Picard) that my dad always watched on TV reruns.
I love it even more than Voyager and Enterprise.
My favorite characters in TNG are:
Dr. Beverly Crusher
Wes Crusher (as you can see, I'm a big Crusher fan)
Riker
Q
Tasha Yar
Barclay
:) :)
Currently, I have been watching the whole series with my family and we're in season three almost in season four.

Hey guys, my name is James, I'm 33 and from Philadelphia, PA, USA.

Growing up, I thought Star Trek (as well as Star Wars and pretty much all sci-fi) was just some nerdy thing to which I had no interest. A few years ago, late at night, I caught the TNG S02E03 episode "Elementary, Dear Data" and was just completely blown away. That episode hit my heart and soul so hard I was thinking about it long after the credits rolled.

I've always been a bit on the financially unstable side, so I was stuck watching episodes on TV as I could until recently I finally grabbed the entire series on DVD at a flea market. Right now, I exist in a world where I haven't watched the entire series, which is awesome, but that world is rapidly nearing it's end. I'm about 4 episodes into the 2nd season, and I've seen many episodes through the rest of the seasons in sporadic order, but I'm really bummed it'll all be over soon. Even more so, since I've read the rest of the Star Trek series leave quite a lot to be desired, but we'll see!

Anyway, that's about it! Hi again!

I have thought that it would be fun to be able to watch episodes again and again for the first time. But, knowing how amazing some episode is before watching it for the second time, I think that is even better.

Hi everyone and thank you for accepting me in this fantastic forum : ) .

I felt shy about registering as I didn't grow up watching Star Trek but only started enjoying it in recent years. I am originally French but established permanent base in Canada 10 years ago, where I ended up meeting my soulmate.

I am 32, live in BC, and I have really enjoyed watching and re-watching Star Trek TNG this past year. I absolutely love every main character in the series from the awesome Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the sexy Riker, the wonderful Data, or brave Worf, to the incredible guest star Q.

However, I feel like I am more of a mix between Deanna Troi and Captain Picard as I would describe myself being on the sensitive side, but also not afraid to make some crucial decisions aboard my personal ship that is my life. Thank you for reading me and now let's have some tea, earl grey, hot : ) !

Welcome aboard! Don’t worry I didn’t grow up with Trek either. There are no “you have to have grown up with Trek” requirements to be a fan! If you love Trek you’re a fan! :)

I'm glad you registered! I didn't grow up watching Trek, either. I discovered it quite by accident in my early 20s, but it's been a staple of my TV watching ever since.

Welcome! I look forward to seeing you around the board!

I'm guessing not all of us here started watching Star Trek in the 60s, partially because we weren't born at the time. :)
Star Trek fan is someone who likes Star Trek no matter when they were introduced to it.

I was already a 20-year-old adult in 1966 when Star Trek made its debut. I've been a fan ever since seeing all episodes of all series, many multiple times. This includes TOS through Lower Decks. There's stuff to like in each iteration of Trek. I'm glad to see another female join the board, we are heavily weighted on the male side, but all gender expressions and orientations are welcome here. I hope you have fun, that IS the point.

Thank you all for your warm welcoming and making me feel more at ease : ) . I am definitely thrilled I joined this forum! I can't wait to watch more TNG episodes tonight, I prefer to watch them at night time because I feel like I am in space this way :bolian:.

I used to do the same! It makes me want to look at the stars and dream of seeing a shuttle coming to pick me up.

I watch TNG about exactly the other way. It has to be summer, sunny and afternoon. :) Most likely because I got my first TNG episodes on tape in the 90s after some work in the summer. After picking them up from post office it was a sunny afternoon. So, everytime I watch TNG it has to be sunny afternoon. :) It became my thing and my tradition. And I love summer.

That means that there's still time, little bit over half a year, for the next TNG episodes for me. Well, harder to learn the favourite episodes inside out since I watch them usually once a year. Fortunately there are other programs for Christmas time, season 1 of 24 @ December. That's because there was 24 day 1 marathon on 26th of December in 2003 and it stuck. :)
