Jamie Foxx has confirmed his return and that it won't be the same version of the character.

Most people have been comparing this to J.K. Simmons showing up as MCU-JJJ, but I saw one observation that it might be more like how Ryan Reynolds was given a do-over as a more authentic Deadpool after the disappointment of the first version.

One would certainly hope so. In my case, the use of the JJJ analogy was because it was an in-universe, MCU, thing.

Technically all the Tweet said was that he won't be blue, so he could maybe be the same version, just with a new look.
As for that new look, something like the version in the PS4 game could work in a movie. They gave him scars on his face that matched the shape of the mask, and that would be pretty easy to pull off onscreen.

With the talk of multiverse casting, I wonder if they might show a white Nick Fury? Shame Kurt Russell has already been in the MCU (then again, I suppose if he’s from a different reality, it wouldn’t matter).

Well, Zardu Hasselfrau is already part of the MCU too, but that shouldn't stop them from slapping an eyepatch on him if it comes to that...

Though if we must use non-MCU actors, then it'd have to be Clooney.

Dennis Farina would have been perfect...sigh

Always loved Farina as Al Lombard, but for me, JK Simmons was such a perfect casting, that I always joked about JK Simmons being the only one who could follow JK Simmons as Jameson years before they brought him back in 'Far from home'...

Just wondering how long you guys think the MCU as well know it could last... i mean,with Multiverse of Madness, theoretically forever (where any "young" favorites can be shifted over to a universe with a new / younger STeve ROgers & Tony Stark, for example).

It will be interesting what the next few years bring... by the way, is there an update movie infographic yet? I know it could shft nce again, but it would be nice to see where we stand. It seems a lot more stable than the DC FU

Well, with the news about Dr Strange joining the cast maybe it will be the Garfield era Electro after all...

Makes sense. Spidey and Strange have a history together in the comics. They're both Lee-Ditko characters, and Straczynski paired them off on occasion in his run, though I don't recall if there was a history before then.

So looks like Spidey is getting some Strange company next time out (no word on who is joining the good Doctor in the multiverse though) https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...oins-spider-man-3-as-doctor-strange-exclusive

* Sigh *

Let Peter stand on his own.

Jamie Foxx already publicly stated that he's not playing the ASM2 version of Electro.
