No indication what Untitled TDV is, yet, right? That’s set for January 5, so I’d expect to learn something soon.

Really glad to see some new authors being added to the rotation and a return to TNG stories set during the series.

Yeah, as much as I enjoy stuff from our regulars, it's always nice to get some new voices added to the mix.

Nice to see some new authors and books set during the series. Will be interesting to go back to that era.

Very cool! It's been a long time since we got some new blood, and since we had books set during the series. I'm surprised it took this long for either of those things to happen, but quite pleased.

These look promising! I've enjoyed what I've read previously by Alex R. White.

I'm always excited for new authors to come into Trek. I do wonder if this is a sign that gallery books is moving away from the "litverse." These books will be much easier to sell to the casual reader. Sounds like two books you can pick up right away and not need all the backstory from 15 previous books.

So, the previously mentioned Crusher-Troi novel is set during TNG TV series era? CALLED IT. I now feel the need to remove my shirt and rub my nipples in a clockwise direction in smug satisfaction of being right.

I'm also pleasantly surprised we're getting a TV series era DS9 novel. When I previously heard a new Dax novel was in the works, I figured it would be a Disco novel, based on popular speculation we're getting a new Dax host in season 3.
There's definitely a certain marketing logic to that decision. Now that Star Trek is back on TV, and its return to TV is proven successful, it definitely makes more sense to begin providing novels aimed at the more casual fanbase, people who can pick up a book and enjoy it without knowing what the Typhon Pact is or the devastating Borg invasion or the Andorian fertility crisis. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some litverse references, certainly some have been sprinkled into the Disco, Picard and even Kelvin Timeline novels (mostly just Andorian and Tellarite naming conventions). Although given these are new authors, they probably won't be required to adhere to any of that at all.

And I finish off with the obligatory reminder that there is "a plan" regarding the literverse that we have to wait to learn more about.

They. Non-binary people use the pronoun they. Or, in the case of your post it should be they're.

The use of "they" as a gender-neutral or non-specific singular pronoun has been part of the English language since Chaucer or earlier, despite the artificial attempts of more recent grammatical prescriptivists to declare it "wrong." Basically, "they" works the same as "you" -- it's both singular and plural and goes with "are" in both forms. And it's becoming increasingly accepted as a pronoun of choice for people who don't identify as male or female. You'd better try to get used to it, since there's a non-binary character going by that pronoun in Star Trek: Discovery this season.

I have always used they as the singular for person rather than saying 'he or she'. Far easier to say 'A person went into the shop and they bought a can of coke' rather than 'A person went into the shop and he or she bought a can of coke'.

Just think "Borg" and you'll get the right pronoun every time.

Does it matter? If someone prefers to be called a certain way, what should that mean to you? All you would be doing is showing common decency to a fellow human being. Isn't that what people should be doing anyway?

Way to move the goalposts there, chief. First you objected to the use of the pronoun in the first place, now you're pretending it was an honest mistake?
