I should note it's almost certainly not deliberate but the patients onboard the ship work as excellent commentary on the Covid-19 crisis. "We're a bunch of sick and endangered people that have a conspiracy theory about the government that they're actually trying to kill us all as well as lying to us. So, we immediately deny that we're getting treated at all and plan to mutiny."

I can see Aging Boy as believing masks are about mind-control.

Because she thought being her Number One would mean hanging out with her best friend and having fun like they did at the Academy.
At this point i don't if I have to take seriously a humorous tv show, but it was clear that after the tricorders debacle she was embarrassing a friend who had trusted her. After that, the right thing she should have done would be either to behave seriously or to step down. Let's remember that after all their friendship was saved only by the intervention of the space monster. And besides, Mariner basically lied to a friend who asked for her help.

I understand that the recording session were already finished by March, so it’s unlikely (but not impossible).

On the other hand, these people have much better reasons to think it’s all a conspiracy!

I can understand some resentment toward Starfleet, I admit. However, they pretty much almost murder a bunch of nurses and medical staff for no reason.

I think it’s ironic that TAS was a healthy attempt to continue Star Trek TOS in a semi-serious but animated fashion, and nobody really treats it as “real” / canon, and Then LD is clearly just a goofy little Animated show not meant to be taken seriously, and everyone picks at its plot and character elements like it was DSC S1.

To be fair, for all the lunacy on display, this is the first TNG era content in a long time and the writers are incredibly faithful to it.

It's hard to take the tricorders thing seriously as an offense when we've never, ever seen tricorders passed out after the away team beamed down.

I think it'd be more Lower Decks that the "demonic looking Warhammer ship" isn't a Klingon ship but maybe an Elosian other race that has different design philosophy than human. Also, that it probably looks warm and inviting to them.

Black perhaps invokes Johnny Cash to them instead of doom or, "What? You guys don't see into the ultraviolet spectrum? God, it must look so depressing to you."
Or somebody must be a huge fan of Batman the Animated series?

Lots of TOS (Trouble with Tribbles, Way to Eden), TNG (Outrageous Okona, Fistful of Datas), DS9 (Trials and Tribble-ations, most Ferengi stuff, Take Me Out to the Holosuite), and Voyager (Captain Proton eps, False Profits) are just goofy little adventures, but we should still treat them as equal. Lower Decks just has more goofy than not. All Star Trek episodes are equal to each other. The Alternative Factor and The Best of Both Worlds. Much Ado About Boimler and Choose Your Pain. Yesteryear and These Are the Voyages. All the same. All Star Trek.

I am an ardent supporter of the canonicity of The Animated Series, and I am an ardent supporter of the canonicity of this animated series, even with all the Richard Arnolds decrying it as "just a goofy little Animated show".

Goofy = Yes, Star Trek is filled to the brim with humor, since the beginning. Lower Decks doesn't add much in those terms.

Little = Short Treks are even littler, but if you discount those, then we also have that 37 minute episode of Discovery to take into account.

Animated = That's just a medium of representation. Half of Star Trek these days is CGI anyway.

Take it or leave it, Lower Decks is a real Star Trek show. Picard is a real Star Trek show. Discovery is a real Star Trek show. Enterprise was a real Star Trek show. It's tiring the way everyone keeps coming up with excuses to discount the newest products from this franchise.

It’s Star Trek, he would’ve gotten better quickly.

More than a century earlier Archer was deliberately jettisoned out into the vacuum of space above Cold Station 12 to prevent him from dying from the pathogens unleashed by Arik Soong's Augments. He was transported back to Enterprise NX-01 and treated successfully for exposure to space with few side effects. So yes, he'd have gotten better.

Still not an excuse to try to "Space" Boimler by kicking him out of an Airlock.

That's literally attempted murder.

There's no excuse for that.

I'm going to assume that Aging Guy has a seriously sociopathic/psychotic brain chemistry - the result of two halves at different stages of development - and cannot be held criminally responsible for his behavior.

The Edosian Captain has no excuse for putting Boimler in harm's way.
