Badgie was the best part for me. Makes you wonder who would win in a fight between Badgie and Mr. Meeseeks (assuming Mr. Meeseeks couldn't spawn other Mr. Meeseeks ;) )

Also, am I the only one who would love to see a spinoff series centered around Commander Jack Ransom? He's easily my favorite part of the show. Or, if not a spinoff, at least a douche-off between him and Commander Riker

To me, the Upper Deck characters, with the exception of the chief engineer, are light years funnier and more interesting than the Lower Deck ones. I like Mariner but have to concede she can be annoying. Tendi hasn't really had too many funny scenarios (although I did like her cheering on Badgey to keep going up the stairs before she realized the implications). Boimler is getting portrayed as wimpy too often, and Rutherford is pretty bland. By contrast, I feel like most of the humor with the Upper Deckers have worked.

I imagine it is just a matter of time before Jonathan Frakes guest-stars on Lower Decks. They name-dropped (now-Captain, thank you very much) Riker's ship, the Titan, just this episode. Frakes not only is very much still involved in Trek, but has guested on every post-TNG series there's been. (Well, I guess he hasn't had a Short Trek yet, but that doesn't count.)

Oh huh, Ensign Fletcher showed up in the background of several of the previous episodes.

Only one he wasn’t in was episode 1

Many moons ago, I remember reading on a message board somewhere that Star Trek: Enterprise violates canon because none of the other shows ever mentioned the NX-01 Enterprise so therefore it can't exist. I wonder what that person thinks of all the references on Lower Decks.

It was nice that they kinda addressed that at the end of S4 when they showed that Samuels took credit for everything and the NX-01 was sidelined in his speeches

It's not canon.

If someone is that wrapped up in canon, then they exist on the fringe and their words are unimportant.

So much of this episode stretches credibility. Not as much as the Spore Drive does, but credibility is rather tortured.

And out of morbid curiosity (I gave up Mel Gibson movies for Lent in 2004, and never took them up again; at that point, the only Mel Gibson movie I'd ever actually seen was Chicken Run, which only has his voice), what's the Lethal Weapon 2 reference?

(BTW, anybody want a 100% legit VHS copy of Chicken Run cheap?)
