Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

Sasha Banks (real name Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado) is a first cousin of rapper Snoop Dogg, hip-hop recording artists Brandy Norwood and Ray J, and music producer Daz Dillinger who currently makes the bulk of her living as a professional wrestler working for the WWE.

It'll be interesting to see who her character is and how prominent a role she has in the season.

Great trailer. Looking forward to the new season. I need to rewatch season 1, but that will be in the middle of October, after I rewatch Discovery.

So it seems from the trailer Luke hasn't established the Jedi yet or he has but doing it quietly in some place...
I wonder if at the end of season 2 we see CGI young Luke Skywalker. But I can't image baby yoda (aka a **** ton of money for Disney) is going anywhere.

The is also the likes of Bo-Katan and Sabine Wren, who have fought besides Jedi for Mandalore (Bo-Katan also fighting against Jedi, but later with them to save her people from the likes of Maul and the Empire). And of course Ahsoka Tano, former Jedi who defeated Maul to liberate Mandalore.

This show takes place out the bumble fuck Outer Rim section of the Star wars universe, so it makes sense that the people out there don't have the slightest clue about Luke, his Jedi Academy, or the Jedi as a whole. There really is no reason at all to ever bring Luke into the story.

I hope the show doesn't get "too" big.. in scope. The appeal of the first season was that it was "off to the side" of all the big stuff, and all the stakes were self contained in these episodes. Favreau used both new and experienced directors and they were all trying to cut their teeth on how to make SW work as a show, by figuring out how to shoot different kinds of action scenes that were intimate
When something as important as Baby Yoda is involved, it's pretty much inevitable that the scale is going to get bigger as the Empire starts starts hunting for him more and more. Now that we might be involving the Jedi, that's probably just going to make things bigger.

I don't disagree. I just hope, as I said, it doesn't get *too* big

But now we're getting into it here and the Jedi get mentioned by name and who is the first returning Jedi in this era? MOFO Luke. And where did he come from? That backward ass planet we visited in season 1. Mando is actively looking for Jedi now.

So I supposed there is the possibility that now that the Empire is gone for the most part, there could be some Jedi that have come out of the woodwork, but it's only been four years since the battle of Jakku, so I'm not sure how many fully trained Jedi there could be, other than perhaps Leia at this point, even if Luke has established the new Jedi Order. Presumably the reference will be Asoka, even though she's not "officially" a Jedi.

As the series progresses, I'm assuming we'll start to see the beginnings of the First Order, but aren't we about 15 years or so away from Ben Solo rejecting the Jedi and joining with Snoke?

Good strategy. Get your expectations SUPER low so that even the mediocrity of "The Mandalorian" will seem good!

I look forward to watching the 2 out of 8 episodes that will be good, if the track record remains consistent with the first season!

Why are your posts always so darn obnoxious?

My defense mechanism for dealing with the crushing mediocrity (if not downright awfulness) of CBSAA Trek and The Mandalorian.

But when things are actually, you know, good, then I'm lollipops and rainbows!

Sasha Banks may be closer to Ahsoka physically than Rosario Dawson actually. She is a bit of a geek IRL so she's probably psyched to get a chance to do this. Who knows, Dave Bautista has done well for himself and ex-MMA Gina Carano has done well on the series. If the role requires a bit of physicality they could do worse though I'm not sure about her acting chops.
