I preferred 80's Paramount trek, followed by Berman Trek up to and including DS9 . Ive always had a hard time with VOY and ENT. I think somehow Braga trek turned me off. Not much of a fan of CBS trek in general. I might watch it if its free, but I wont pay to see it, either in film or streaming.

DIS only had character deaths that gave the show emotional depth and pushed the story forward. I think only twp regulars died so far? As for Picard, none of the regulars were killed off. Guest stars don't count, obviously.
And one ended up getting resurrected.
Give em time and Ariam will be back.
Aside: Would have been really nice to have gotten to know her so I wou ldve cared. Even had she had the exposure of a Kevin Riley or a Reg from TNG, she wouldve mattered to me more.
100 bucks says Spiner/Data/B4 comes back somehow in PIC.

Spiner said he is willing to come back just not as Data. He already has another character in Soong.
I assume it'll be a separate mission. Chabon is out, as he told the story he wanted to tell and apparently had no interest in continuing.
I wonder if Picard's death was originally planned to be final, or if Chabon always wanted to Synth-esize him at the end.
Doubtful, given they've recast the actress as another character. Indeed, the whole reason Ariam was killed off was because the actress was allergic to the makeup.
Spiner is returning as Soong Jr.
You're off a bit on the timing, it was the first season actress with the allergy who was recast as a different character, they had a new actress play Ariam in the second season.

I can't take credit for this, but doesn't "Altan Inigo" sound a lot like "Alter Ego"? The person who did notice that thinks it's evidence that that's really Lore after disguising himself.
Yeah, I saw that too. I'm not sure about Lore, but the whole "A.I." thing has always set up red flags on this guy's shaky origin. It's not like Ol' Noonien was above programming androids to appear to age and think they're human. A.I. could be an invention of Lore's, even.
There's very little "perfect" Trek and CBS Trek has its flaws. Not to say I've not enjoyed all of it in some form or another. From top to bottom, I prefer:

I mean, I get that Trek has always had a small universe, but Jesus. That whole part of Picard (the last two episodes) sucked ass.

I’m glad they got away from lesson teaching cause their lessons were often on the nose and hamfisted like with Force of Nature or the Enterprise mind meld one.

Actually, the whole Ariam storyline in season 2 was to clear the character out because of Sara Mitich's (the season 1 actress) allergies. That was why after Ariam was killed off, it was Mitich's new character who took over Ariam's bridge duties.
It isn't quite official, but Patrick Stewart has hinted that it could happen.
