What DON’T you like about the show?

Aren't the white boots specifically for medical personnel, while regular science personnel still have black boots?
That's my working theory as well. The problem is that we've only seen one blueshirt with black boots in the first three episodes (in “Second Contact”; couldn't check screencaps for episode four yet). Which could easily have been an animation mistake.

Hate Mariner's yawning and making fun of someone's speech or language problems

WAAAY too far in my opinion. It’s almost getting to fan fiction level. Does it make sense when I say that it has to have an element of seriousness to be funny? This almost feels like a parody of Starfleet life set within the Trek universe. Like this is something that cadets will watch. It’s not something that is “actually” happening within the universe.

....

Uh, I hate to break it to you but...

I think she's making fun of his personality. Though oddly I believe she was legitimately tired.

Not enough gay people.
We only see 4 main characters, half the upper deck and the entire middle deck could be gay ;)

It reminded me of a certain candidate mocking a disabled reporter... :/
And the yawning was goddamn annoying. I think I'll never watch that episode again. I never wanted a Trek character to leave ASAP, but I would welcome her departure now

I'm not crazy about the design of the Cerritos. The pylons being the only thing connecting the primary and secondary hulls seems like a tactical misstep.

This is a big one for me. I’ve noticed this a lot in all the recent Treks. I know it’s kind of unrealistic to expect humans to change too much in four hundred years ...

400 years ago it was 1620, I'd say humans change a LOT in that time and at an even more rapid pace as we go along if you look at where we were even 100 years ago.

Wasn't there a gay couple in the Risa district in Envoys? Granted, they can do much better than two non-speaking characters in the background, but at least they aren't totally ignoring the LGBTQ+ crowd.

I can’t remember for sure, to be honest.

Come on, you know full well that the level of "juvenile" and "improbable" is up to 11 on this show, versus a one-off episode of TOS or TNG.

There are a lot of those “one-off” episodes littered throughout the franchise. Many aren’t intentionally funny, but are still funny unfortunately.

I don't like the fact that I haven't seen it yet. I'm going to wait until the whole season is available, then re-activate my CBSAA account for one month to binge-watch, and then cancel the account again. I like this newfangled streaming era!
