I think what people are trying to say is, when the site you linked to posts something, it's not a rumor. They made it up. They're literally known for it.
I actually considered merging this into our YouTube content thread, as it's basically the same sort of thing...except that the source isn't a YouTube video. It should stay in this forum, though.
You really love putting things into that Youtube thread, it's like the "not important stuff" thread.

I would just not help it circulate. They make money for every click. Don’t spread obviously fake news. But that’s just me.
There was no reason at all to bring this up for discussion. WeGotThisCovered is a clickbait site that seems to routinely just make shit up to drive traffic to their worthless website - which you helped them do by creating an entire topic to draw attention to a link to their stupid story.
To be fair, I started the "Brent Spiner to appear on Picard?" thread based on a WGTC article, and that one turned out to be true.
Is it possible to just outright ban or block any links to We Got This Covered on the forum? None of their "reporting" adds anything of value to any discussions outside of the anti-CBSAA Trek crowd.
Or at the very least move it to the unreliable sources thread... But I'd prefer not to give them any clicks.
If Stewart wasn't happy with the script, they would have changed it.
I agree that we shouldn't give them clicks, which is easy as the OP gave us the gist of the article. On the other hand, we don't really have anything else to talk about where Picard is concerned.
I'd consider changing the name of the YouTube thread to something more general to cover clickbait sites.

I would be happy with a tag that read "Rumors", just like we have tags that read "News" and "Spoilers".
Does the the guy posting this topic have a stake or interest in the website that is posting this garbage? 4chan has no legitimacy, it's a site full of incels who purposefully hate everything new and popular. It is full of people who post all kinds of bullshit leaks because they like the attention they get. I can go on there right now and post about how Patrick Stewart is being contractually forced to appear in the show and actually hates the show and I'd get hundreds of posts of people believing it.
I'd like to see a venn diagram between people who believe YouTube incel types like Doomcock, MidnightsEdge and Nerdrotic, 5G conspiracies and thinking corona virus is fake.
