It's going to be on Disney+, but you'll have to pay $29.99 to watch it.
Damn, that's disappointing. That was the one live action of an animated classic that I was actually looking forward to seeing on the big screen.Mulan is going straight to Disney+ on September 4th.

Not only that, but no non-IMAX theater charges that much for a film. I know I've been pretty lucky with the theaters I've frequented over the years, but there's no way regular theaters have gotten that expensive.I really hope this doesn't set a precedent. I get they want to recoup the losses, but I already paid for the subscription service. If this leads to double dipping when they sell the subscription service as a be all in the TOS, than I don't think I will be happy about that.
That's assuming people will be watching this alone, and not with their families/housemates/friends.Not only that, but no non-IMAX theater charges that much for a film. $30 is ridiculous after you already pay for the subscription. I could see $10 or $15 dollars, but $30 is just way to much.
So wait a few months and rent it at Redbox for $2, or wait a few more months to watch it on Disney+ for free. Or would you prefer they offer single-viewer pricing if you turned on your laptop/mobile camera, to show you were watching it by yourself? They are basically charging family prices and if you do want to see it alone, (Which is basically my life) it's a significant overcharge.

Yeah, but you're not already paying for a monthly or yearly subscription to the theater. My issue isn't with the price alone, it's the fact that it's $30 on top of my subscription. If this was just a paid rental on Amazon, ITunes, Google Play, ect. it wouldn't be so bad, but the whole reason I subscribe to services like Disney+ is so I don't have pay to watch movies like this. This is an extraordinary situation, so I could forgive a small fee, but this is not a small fee.For people with families it's a lot cheaper then a night at the movies.
And for Disney they get all the money, so need to make fewer sales to make a profit.

The Huns lose. Mulan survives. There are no talking dragon sidekicks. There, now you can talk about it with everyone. You're welcome.I actually like the third option, if it means I can rent it for half of what they are currently asking for and I can watch it with most everyone else and talk about it with most everyone else.
You weren't sold a Disney+ subscription on the basis of getting to see brand-new big-budget films at no extra charge. My issue isn't with the price alone, it's the fact that it's $30 on top of my subscription.
I want to see this just because Donnie Yen is in it.
