Season 3 Finally Lands October 15

It will only increase in the future so get used to it.

On Trek, probably. The lead character of SNW is a straight white male, which means they'll overcompensate as usual with the rest of the cast. Other shows? Nah. They strike a more natural balance these days. And I say that as a non-straight, non-white male.

Speaking as a gay man who for years marched and fundraised for marriage equality and equal treatment under the law I want to flatly state that IMHO "I'm ____ therefore I can say this" is the worst. Just because you belong to a group or groups doesn't mean you get to speak for your groups with immunity or impunity. There are women who are anti-feminist and there are self-hating members of pretty much every group. You may think there's a problem with representation on Star Trek, but not all non-straight non-whites think so. I certainly don't.

And my opinion, as a person, is that after being underrepresented for-fucking-ever why not overcompensate and over-represent? How does that harm anyone? As Harvey Fierstein has said, "Visibility at any cost," because when you've been underrepresented you're easier to ignore...or worse.

What exactly are the demographics of the 23rd century? What is over compensating? What is "natural balance"? How could so many captains and crew on an "Earth" ship be white anyway? The current white population of the Earth takes up 8-10% making any Star Trek show's white over representation unrealistic even for today.

That isn’t an excuse to have such an awful opinion. If anything it’s a sign of self hatred.

Never said they do. I'm just stating my opinion, that's all.

And you know this how? I've already said MULTIPLE times, that that was wrong too, and that two wrongs don't make a right. But why listen to reason and debate properly when you can accuse a poster of something they're not or put words in their mouth time and time again.
I remember a time when you rather aggressively spoke out against anyone who dared voice a criticism against the Kelvin Timeline films. Indeed, you're still using the Kelvin itself as your avatar. Not once have you ever complained on the fact those films have an overwhelmingly male dominated cast, you've never complained about the predominantly white cast of the movies or Khan being turned into a white guy. And you can essentially say the first two movies had an entirely heterosexual cast (with never a complaint from you on the matter), since Sulu's homosexuality wasn't established until the third movie, and it wouldn't surprise me if you're one of those who insist that was actually Sulu's brother we saw him with in Beyond. Near as I can tell, you've only started saying you were against the old ways in response to those calling you out for never complaining about them.

Ice-breaker:

What are you most looking forward to? For me, it's watching Burnham in this strange new time, basically Alice In Wonderland, and her waiting for Discovery. The waiting is something I'll be able to relate to now because it seems like so many things these days are just waiting.
