That would make a lot of sense. The series felt of from the moment they killed Maddox, that'd also explain why Jurati just manages to walk free
there are no rerun weeks in streaming services, previous episodes are alway available. Both trekcore and trekmovie have confirmed with CBS that there will be 13 straight weeks of new episodes with season finale on Jan 7th. Of course this could change but that is the current plan.
I recall when we started getting first looks at season 3 it was mentioned in an article that there would be a non-binary or trans character. I think the individual between stamets and culber is that character.
That's why I wrote crewperson Will they stand between the two, is that a deliberate hint in the poster? XD
Unfortunately they are non-bynari Well we've seen non-binary, genderless species in Trek before. Maybe they will be a non-binary human, or an Artifical lifeform that considers itself genderless. I'm pretty sure this character is the one floating in the trill symbiont pools, so maybe they are a variation or sub-group of joined trill.
I always expected it in 2020. They just had so much of it done, but Discovery is one of the most complex shows on TV, so I think we all underestimated the post-production. RAMA
IIRC there were brief shots of them in the initial trailer. I am guessing they are non-binary. I am not sure "trans" really works as a distinct identity within the Trekverse. SRS is much more advanced/easier, so I would presume people in "mainstream" Earth culture quickly transition to "passing" flawlessly as soon as they realize they feel dysphoric. Hell, in the Star Trek universe, people might just decide to try on another gender for a year or so for a lark. Why not after all?
As long as the character fits the story and is entertaining, I don't see a problem. The same as any other character. The less focus on Michael Burnham, the better.
Of course if it is. Michelle Yeoh is a popular star and they'd be stupid not to make use of her if she wants to do a Star Trek series. To think that they suddenly would give up on a series that would have big appeal outside of the U.S. (she's a pretty big Asian star), is ridiculous. They're lucky to have her. No it's called smart marketing. The San Diego Comic-Con panel was primarily to announce and promote the premiere of the new series that they've been working on for a couple of years now, namely "Star Trek: Lower Decks" and get fans excited and looking forward to that premiere date (August 6th). Announcing the STD release date at the same time would lessen/dilute that message; and some media outlets might focus on the Discovery premiere date More than the Lower Decks premiere date. Again their marketing team did the right thing, focus on the new series that's releasing in a couple of weeks. So you want Patrick Stewart who's 80 years old and at high risk if he contracts COVID-19 to leave his home and area he knows well, and take a trip to Canada, essentially risking his health, so you can get Picard season 2 (assuming Patrick Stewart survives to finish shooting it) a few weeks earlier. Yep you're a true Star Trek fan... Oh, wait.
No. I completely understand if they don't. I was suggesting it as an alternative. Everything in my life has been "How do we work around Covid and take precautions to avoid it but still be able to go about our lives if possible?" That's not the same as "DO THIS OR I'LL RIOT!" That's not who I am. Frankly, I'm disappointed that you think so little of me that you think I'd have that type of mentality. This hits me harder than anything certain other posters would say.
Section 31 is still happening. It was originally going to begin production in May until Covid happened. Also, if you remember the leaked Discovery season 3 episode titles and writers, there is only one episode being written by Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt (weird for a 13 episode season) but makes sense since they are the show runners of the Section 31 show. Their episode might actually be a backdoor pilot of sorts. I even follow them on Instagram and they were at show runner school in January. People forget that Section 31 has already been officially announced, including by Michelle Yeoh on her own social media accounts, a while ago. It was always going to begin production after Discovery season 3 finished. I think some confusion arose from a fan campaign wanting a Pike show instead of a Section 31 show. We’re getting a Pike show now in addition to the Section 31 show, not a replacement.
I just want to correct myself. The first 7 episode titles and writers supposedly leaked. Two of them are a 2-parter with a story by Kim and Lippoldt but not teleplay credit. They’re called Terra Firma. If these turn out to be true, they might partly have to do with Georgiou and setting her up for her own series.
