Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

I wonder if there will be a more "fixed" schedule of when the panels are happening. I don't really need to see the table read, but I would love to see the rest. Of course Table reads can be fun. Maybe a month ago, the cast of Orphan Black reunited for a table read and it was pretty fun, at least what I saw. I would love to find out more about Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds though.

They're doing a Q&A with Klingon actors (and Jayne Brook)

So according to Kenneth Michell, he screen tested in-front of Bryan Fuller, so he was still on the show during that time. Which isn't surprising, weren't the first cast members announced a month after he left the show?

Also he wasn't told he was playing a Klingon until he got the screen test. The name in the test script was "argonaut' or something like that.

I was looking at some behind-the-scenes pics of the Talosians and I think they look better in the makeup chair than they do on camera. Is it possible that the lighting and color filters aren't doing the makeup artist's work justice?

I haven't seen those pictures, but it's very possible. Lighting and angles do a lot. As for filters. Look at some of the Marvel suits on set, and on screen. Huge difference. Or Discovery herself, in season 1 and 2.

Season 4 of Discovery will go into production on October 19th until March, according to this article. Season 5 will follow immediately after. Though we still haven't gotten any information that seasons 4 and 5 will be filmed back to back.

If true, it looks like the fourth season will be shorter. Probably 10 episodes.

Production for the third season's 13 episodes took from July 2019 to February 2020.

I think from now on, all Star Trek seasons (Picard, Discovery, Strange New Worlds, Section 31, Lower Decks etc.) will have 10 episodes. Still wondering about filming seasons back to back though... If they shorten the seasons, that may seem more likely...

Rewatching Season One.
Did they "tone down" Saru's make-up for Season Two? There seems to be more color and texture in Season One.

I was a little disappointed we didn't get any kind of announcements during the panels.
One thing I've gotten a kick out of with all of these Zoom/vide chat interviews and things is seeing inside everyone's homes. One thing that stood out to me with Discovery is the differences between the homes of the younger up and comers vs the older veterans. A lot the younger actors, who are fairly new to acting appeared to be fairly small apartments, and then you had the people who've been around for a while, like Anson Mount and Rebecca Romijn, who live in nice, big houses. Obviously, I understand why things are that way, but I couldn't help but laugh a little.

A bit of an aside, but Mary Chieffo has been very active on the con circuit considering there's no way L'Rell is going to appear in Season 3. Stands in contrast to Latif, who had a larger role last season but has been notably absent.

Maybe they plan to bring her back as a guest actor on SNW, or on Section 31 if Georgiou returns to the past. Otherwise it's just odd how she talks about her character as if she still has an ongoing arc.

Isn't she doing voice work for STO?
