Or maybe less literal, it could be a shot of the past or memory or even an imagined image. Odo is trying to catch a mysterious figure, so we see one.
That's just Al coming to tell him that Ziggy says there's a 92% chance he's here to solve the murder mystery.

[Begins five paragraph rant about Odo's office looking wrong, accusations of artist insulting fandom and conclusion that everything is getting a Disco style reinterpretation. Multiple slanderous insults towards JJ Abrams and his mother included.]
My local comics ship has closed; victim to covid19 and national trending. I will have to get it directly from IDW once it TPBs.
You could always go digital, or if you really want to physical issues they do have them on Amazon or places like Things From Another World.

I hope this series sells well, I think I'll be too old in 2030 if there is another decade wait between DS9 releases from IDW.
Too old to read? I don't think that's something that expires, as long as you can get reading glasses.
Apart from that (literally) very first panel in the issue (weirdly depicting Bashir with an extra-chunky face, or maybe just a case of swollen glands), the rest of the issue's artwork was quite good and generally "on-model," at least IMO. Really liked how this series is starting out.
