An epic new Star Trek saga by New York Times bestselling author Dayton Ward set during the original Five-Year Mission!

For years, Starfleet Intelligence agents have carried out undercover assignments deep within the Klingon Empire. Surgically altered and rigorously trained in Klingon culture, they operate in plain sight and without any direct support, while collecting information and infiltrating the highest levels of imperial power. Their actions have given Starfleet valuable insight into the inner workings of Klingon government and its relentless military apparatus.

After three of Starfleet’s longest serving agents fear exposure, they initiate emergency extraction procedures. Their planned rendezvous with the USS Endeavour goes awry, threatening to reveal their activities and the damaging intelligence they’ve collected during their mission. Tasked by Starfleet to salvage the botched rescue attempt, Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise must discover the truth behind a secret weapons experiment while avoiding an interstellar incident with the potential to ignite a new war between the Federation and one of its oldest adversaries.

Looks like somewhere around June 9th?

Does sound like an interesting premise for a story.

I wish I'd known. I'd have ordered it alongside Lisa Borden's The Alphabet of Avoidance, Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and theShort Treks DVD.

I hope you ordered one of the modern translations of 20,000 Leagues and not the 1873 Mercier translation that completely butchers the novel.

I too, have been looking forward to this for some time. It'll be very interesting to see what historical references to events from Enterprise and Discovery are made (and if just who is Chancellor at this point in time).

Agents of Influence is now viewable on Google Books and Amazon.com's Look Inside feature. For those of you interested in minor characters, Leslie, Palmer, Rahda and Nogura all make appearances. Rahda's first name has gone back to being Naomi. I haven't seen any Enterprise or Discovery references, but there are references to Vanguard.

Cool info! It's always good to see Admiral Nogura make an appearance. It's a shame he never actually made it to the screen in ST:TMP.

Would be nice to actually go into a local bookstore to pick this up and browse the shelves, but most are still closed due to COVID-19, and the few that are open are only doing curbside pick up; which is better than nothing. Guess I'll have to order online and have it shipped.

I know the feeling. I miss being able to go into B&N to just look around for awhile and get a mocha. Sadly, the situation is just as you described.

Of course, trying to gain entry into the Euclid Public Library right now is even worse!

I normally read new Trek books as soon as they come out but I’m currently working through (and loving) Vanguard and will do seekers after that. I see the endeavour is mentioned, should I maybe wait until I’ve finished seekers?
