Donny's Refit Enterprise Interiors (Version 2.0)

I thought it was Scott's guide to the Enterprise, but, it really comes from the FASA Star Trek III sourcebook. A casual google search readily identifies this craft as the SW-7, even Memory Beta identifies it as such.

Since that information is technically not canon (soft-canon at best), one generally refers to it instead as the "TMP Shuttle" Though I do like this information more, with the Warp Sled being more standard issue for shuttles of that type. Unfortunately canon named it as the "Surak craft" instead implying that it was a Vulcan ship. Uhura calls it a "Federation registered long-range shuttle" but it happens to have the Surak name (and we presume Vulcan lettering, though we see Vulcan writing far different in later Trek) on the portside pylon. I prefer to think that is just the name of the shuttle, like Gallileo or Copernicus. But that wouldn't be the first time canon actually got things wrong, or different as originally intended.

I've seen other sources somewhere (was it Christopher?) saying that this shuttle is Vulcan design (something I'm fine with, because too many Starfleet ships claim to be of human origin). But the numerical designation works for me as much as it does with other craft like the Type F shuttle and all the TNG shuttles- especially as no other official source has given one to this vehicle. Also, I wouldn't expect sources like Memory Alpha to say as much unless it's mentioned onscreen or in a technical manual. SW-7 works as much for me as anything else.

Also, I'd like to honor the 80s fandom contributions to the lore when they are deliberately overlooked by later canon.

Behind the pilot's seats, the STV shuttle interior looks like an unfinished garage.

This actually makes sense and fits with the real-world air force cargo planes I've ridden in. Probably configurable for a number of different missions - passengers, cargo, medevac, etc.

Skip that your renders look like high res photos of the set, they look like you've taken high res photos of the real ships. Where do I sign up for the tours?

I still miss those shuttles in the hangar bay matte painting. Gave the ship that feeling of being busy and functional, especially in the rush to get it going.

I liked that distinction of another race having a different approach to the same technology. For a while I was tinkering up an Enterprise class refitted with those nacelles... but being so thin on the forward edge made mounting them a bit tricky.

I can't seem to find it, but there was some concept art for the T'pau from TNG: Reunification that looked like a vulcanized miranda-class with those same nacelles. A pity that consistency couldn't be held on to, I guess the Enterprise makers really wanted the ring ships.

If Andy had intended the warp sled to be standard Starfleet issue he’d have made the nacelles look more like those in his “mix and match” sketch. He did eventually do a human tech-looking version of the sled for Yorktown: A Time to Heal.

I remember the name from some of the design sketches in Mister Scott's Guide. According to Memory Beta, they were credited with the design of the docking collar, shuttlecraft, and the Rec Deck windows.
