Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

I will definitely watch this. It wasn't the tone of his earlier takes that bothered me, and the extended cut of BvS is far better than the theatrical release. It is most likely not going to be his originally intended version as IIRC that was supposed to set up a "Part 2" with Darkseid. It would be interesting though, if this movie were popular enough to rejuvenate hopes for a second Justice League movie--which I am sure Snyder fans will call for anyway.

I just hope there's more of the Superman/Lois relationship, the tone of which went from passable but bland to deeply unsettling but you can't your finger on exactly what it is.
Interesting. I want to ask how you found it "deeply unsettling," but I guess you just said you can't define it.

I don’t believe HBO Max plans to launch in the U.K. or Ireland so I imagine we’ll see it here on Sky Atlantic.

I’m not a fan of Snyder as a director and I think he was the wrong choice to helm a Superman film and DC’s cinematic universe generally. But kudos to his and his fans determination to see his vision completed onscreen. I enjoyed much of MOS, BvS and JL, flawed as they were, and it’ll be an interesting watch if nothing else.

From what I've read it requires some reshoots and will be released in 35 segments.

The Snyderverse version of Lois Lane is the most bland portrayal of the character in any incarnation.

Unfortunately, Sony has just signed a deal stating that Henry Cavill has to wear an Emoji-movie branded bandana over his face for the next three years. Don't worry, though. Warner Brothers has given their digital guys three days to fix it all with CGI.

I'm curious, but I'm not paying for another service. Hopefully it'll be available on demand or of BD some day.

Yep. I enjoyed his more serious take on the DC heroes. The tone of seriousness found in works like Kingdom Come and Golden Age to name a couple of 90’s faves. There was an awesome epicness to JLA, especially in the flashback to Steppenwolfs first invasion. Didn’t care for the Mother Box retcon though.

I’d love it if he were doing the New Gods film. Man can craft epic battles better than damn near anyone.

So yeah, it’ll be interesting to see his cut of the film.

Well said.

Am I curious? Sure.
Am I a bouncing bundle of energy on board the hypetrain? Nah....

The DCEU hasn't really done it for me since Man Of Steel. I really enjoyed that movie. BvS and Suicide Squad could have great. If they hired an editor worth a damn. Wonder Woman was quite entertaining. But not the best thing since sliced bread as so many like to say. Justice League was on Netflix for about 6 months here, and after the first time watching it, it became my favorite 'I'm bored at home on a saturday evening let's eat junkfood and drink beer while I do other stuff with this movie in the background as noise' movie for a while. Still haven't seen Aquaman since it's not out yet on any streaming service I watch. And really don't care that much.

Boy people are going to be in for a shock when they sign in for this movie and watch and notice the only difference is Superman now has a mustache!

How much alternate footage does he really have to work with?

That's the key - the movie failed on so many levels for me (i really dislike the Flash version in it - the costume, the actor is wrong for the role), Cyborg is a complete non character (if he weren't in the movie nobody would feel something was missing), Aquaman is a just there to provide some muscle and occasional one liner etc., Steppenwolf's CGI is just sub par (you can really tell it's CGI and doesn't mesh with anything on screen organically) etc.

The whole movie concept is not well done and i seriously doubt some new new scenes and reordering the scenes will save it. I will of course watch it out of curiosity but i doubt the movie can be saved unlike Kingdom of Heaven, whose Director Cut turned it from an okay movie to one of my favorite ones.

Aquaman is a ton of fun. And you didn't mention Shazam!, but that movie is pure distilled delight.

Right, Shazam! was the bomb though!! :D

This is going to be interesting. I'll watch it. With no theater requirement, there is no reason to worry about length if the story fits.

The problem is that Snyder has not done a very good job with the DC characters. He butchered Superman. He did so in a different way than the Supergirl writers did, but he still butchered the character.

Batman v. Superman was absolutely horrific. His casting choices, like Eisenberg as Lex Luthor were putrid.

Suicide Squad was awful as well.

Wonder Woman was very good. He probably wasn't as involved.

By the time Aquaman and Shazam came out, he was already taking a back seat, but the damage was done.

I didn't hate Justice League like some. I thought it was an upgrade over BvS and MOS, but maybe that's just because my expectations were so low that it was hard to disappoint.

I'm very curious if this Snyder cut will be better.

I only wish we could have got a true Richard Donner Cut of Superman II, but that movie was just never finished.
