Yep. I enjoyed his more serious take on the DC heroes. The tone of seriousness found in works like Kingdom Come and Golden Age to name a couple of 90’s faves. There was an awesome epicness to JLA, especially in the flashback to Steppenwolfs first invasion. Didn’t care for the Mother Box retcon though.

I’d love it if he were doing the New Gods film. Man can craft epic battles better than damn near anyone.

So yeah, it’ll be interesting to see his cut of the film.

Best part of this will be the end of the #releasethesnydercut hashtag.

Yeah, but now that it has worked we're probably gonna see others more often. :(

And if we start getting to see more of the original director visions out of it, that's great news! Bring on the Rise of Skywalker director's cut!!!

I mean I'm curious, if only to see if it's somehow worse the the snooze-fest we already got or just another flavour of tedium. Does this mean people will stop whining about this now? I doubt it.

Honestly I don't really have a dog in this fight one way or the other since none of Snyder's DC movies post 'Watchmen' did much for me. I mean this is just me, but I have a hard time feeling invested in a movie when the main creative voice fundamentally does not understand the source material. So when JL came out, I wasn't expecting much and this wasn't terribly disappointed.

It's probably a rip on the Release the Snyder Cut folks but some people are already demanding the release of a David Ayer Director's cut of Suicide Squad.

It's being discussed in the "DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond" thread, but it probably does rate its own topic. My initial comments from that other thread:

I'll see it at some point. I'm not a fan of Snyder by any means, but I'm interested in seeing how bad it could get.

How much alternate footage does he really have to work with?

I don't know why but i'm kinda excited. I mean, when are we ever going to see another Justice League movie?
More Aquaman and Wonder Woman can only be a good thing. Possibly we'll get a Green Lantern too and Darkside.

There's going to be a half hour scene where Lois is sitting there painting her toe nails, and a select niche in the audience are totally going to lose their shit.

It would be crazy if this did so well on HBO Max that they decide to bring everyone back and complete Snyder's story. I mean, while I acknowledge that it's extremely doubtful that that would happen, last week I would have said the same thing about ever seening the Snyder cut of Justice League.

FYI this isn't some unreleased cut that's always existed that the original post assumes. That's always been internet myth. Snyder made a new cut with extra raw footage and now has the green light and money to make a proper release.

That said maybe Snyder can make a more full realized movie than the haphazard one they released with its stupidly mandated no more than 2 hour runtime. I'll be plopped in front of my TV to watch it when its released.

From what I've read it requires some reshoots and will be released in 35 segments.

I just hope there's more of the Superman/Lois relationship, the tone of which went from passable but bland to deeply unsettling but you can't your finger on exactly what it is.
