Well, to be fair, I hadn't heard of Quake until this show and I was barely familiar with HYDRA. But the Deathlok twist was a lovely surprise at the time!

That starts soon. Can’t wait. AoS is always the best when it comes to MCU material.

I suspected as much. I gather that the gap between them knowing what happens in 'Endgame' and having to produce season 6 was so tight that they didn't have the room to properly react to it all so they were forced to basically ignore it and act like it hadn't happened yet.
This new season affords them the space to actually plot out a season with that foreknowledge, and the time travel aspect lets them approach it from one of several angles, either directly or just obliquely.

    Sneak preview...

Assuming that they are going by Deke's thoeries on time travel here, they will be going by a a different model than the movies.

I've always wondered if the time travel rules were different depending upon the source of the time-traveling. in Endgame, The Avengers used a purely scientific model and had to go by purely scientific rules. But what if the time travel comes about by magic or some other means that our heroes yet to understand (such as monolith energy)? Wanda killed Vision and Thanos was able to reverse that by "magically" manipulating time without creating an alternate reality.

Not necessarily. It could be that their concern is not so much whether the future they know will survive as whether they'll be able to return to it. Maybe, without access to Tony Stark's Pym particle-empowered time travel tech, they won't have the ability to jump between timelines at will, so if they end up branching into an alternate stream, they won't be able to find their way back to their original one.

After all, in the previous couple of seasons, Deke already argued in favor of the multiverse model over the "erasure" model, and he was proven right by the fact of his continued existence after his dystopian future was prevented. So assuming the show still has the same writers, it should still be following that model.

They shouldn't be. The impossibility of "erasing" an existing timeline isn't just a matter of physics, it's a matter of common sense. Any change requires the passage of time, a "before" version followed by an "after" version. But a single moment in time can't come after itself. That's a contradiction in terms, a meaningless assemblage of words like "Go north from the North Pole" or "Take ten of those five apples." It's not just forbidden, it's not even a validly formulated premise in the first place. The only meaningful way to have two or more versions of the same moment in time is to have them coexist simultaneously, by definition. So physics or magic, you'd still get parallel timelines rather than "overwriting."

It's a work of fantasy, not a dissertation. Of course, the MCU is also fantasy, but it's chosen to define its time-travel rules based on more plausible theory, in both Endgame and previous AoS seasons. So I'd be surprised if AoS changed the rules now.

Yeah, I belatedly realized that was probably a quote from the movie. I've only seen it twice.

Found AoS a bit of a chore to be honest, mainly watched out of completism but think it picked up with the GR/Matrix/LMD stuff. I enjoyed Season 6 and am looking forward to 7.

I'm not surprised they appear to be taking the opportunity offered by time travel to fix the snap thing. I just wonder if it'll be used to fix Coulson's death too, or if it will leave things in line with Coulson's current status in the MCU. Which I presume is deceased, despite Fury and Agent Hill's appearances in AoS.
