What Is The First Thing You Will Do When This COVID-19 is over?

When this is over maybe someone wants to market a new invention I just came up with. I use an elevator dozens of time a day, at the hospital.

Life being how it is lately, I only press the button with my elbow, & I realized that if I had elbow pads with alcohol wipes on them, I'd be disinfecting them whenever I use the elevator.

If the band had an irrigation system & a small bladder, I could redampen it by squeezing my arm together. The band could maybe be launderable, the bladder could have a refill nozzle, & the wipe/pad could be removable/replaceable

A Fremen Stilsuit that cleans stuff?

That's a little more ambitious than I had in mind lol

I'm talking a little balloon with a hose, sewn into an armband, that would moisten the outside of the elbow with disinfecting alcohol

That websites all in German. I don't sprechen deutsch
Yes, I assumed so :( I'm sorry. The cell is produced in Russia and as Trump doesn't like that country anymore (after he got elected, that is), they mainly produce for the European market. The phone does have an English menu, though. I just posted it to give you an impression of what it looks like. If you'd like to buy one I can help you. However, since the postal services run on a minimum staff atm, it's almost impossible to ship goods acros the big pond. However, that fits the thread's topic: it's something you can do after Corona :)

Alas, that won't work. desinfectants are 80% alcohol and as alcohol has no surface tension it would run out of that balloon. It's a very annoying property of alcohol - at my lab I always have to put something under the wash bottles as they keep dripping

Indeed.... They actually look quite neat. I've marked them for later.

Surface tension... Hmmm... True, I hadn't thought of that, but (& I'm just spitballing here) couldn't the bladder have a squeeze activated valve? Granted, things are getting complicated now lol

Naah, that's indeed a good question. My wash bottles have a squeeze valve, too and nevertheless they drip (even those advertized as non-dripping do). The alcohol reacts like penetrating oil - in German we call it crawling oil. Alcohol does just that: it crawls out of capillaries or narrow fissures. And if you use something that's so wide it can't crawl, the alc will evaporate. I'd recommend an ordinary valve and a cap or lid to close it. For my wash bottles I use a rubber squeezer for pasteur pipettes (I'm sorry, I couldn't find out what they are called in English). I just pull it over the nozzle of the bottle, like a tiny condom. Works nicely :)

The first thing I want to do is see my mom. Be able to hug her again and go out to eat. And just sit in her room and watch a movie with her. I miss her.

Our govt. keeps mentioning zoom but it's made by chinese coders... That has caused people to complain about data breaching and the fact it comes out of China.

I've been using Messenger which does voice and video chat.

Hmmmm. For multiple people? Apples facetime can handle multiple parties but they all have to be iPhones.

The first thing I'm doing is recording three albums.

My wife and I moved into a small apartment with the intent of staying until we bought a house. I wanted to get back into music and freelance journalism full-time and she works M-F, 9-5. It was perfect. She went to the office, I worked at home and evenings and weekends were together time.

She's working from home during this, for which I'm grateful, but the small size of this place means only she can work (she's salary, freelance is... well, what it is) so my days are spent going batty trying to be quite while listening to her working so I can't even read peacefully unless I put in earplugs.

I really miss the three bedroom 1500 sq ft apartment we left for this 350 sq ft place. Heh, the plan was to downsize, save and buy a house.

I've been looking up all kinds of places I would like to take trips to go visit once all these restrictions are lifted; some I've been to before, and some that will be new to me.

To me, home is just a place to eat and sleep. Meaningful real life happens everywhere else; cultural experiences, community interaction, encounters with nature, pushing your physical fitness limits, etc. So being cooped up at the house the majority of the time is getting rather tedious and tiresome. Watching videos of travel destinations isn't the same as actually being there in the middle of their sweeping grandeur, working out with my limited home fitness setup isn't the same as going to a fully equipped gym, walking around on concrete sidewalks in the city among buildings and car exhaust isn't the same as being out in the wilderness, and looking at pictures of museum exhibits isn't the same as taking in their full scale in person.
