List Only! Last Star Trek Episode You Watched

"Project Daedalus" (DSC)

Spock in this episode reminds me of everyone I ever got into an argument with about Discovery. I didn't take sides between Spock and Burnham on first viewing because I was still in "It's Spock!" mode. Now that the awe's gone, I'm on Burnham's side.

TNG “Ensign Ro” - I forgot what a great little episode this is. In some ways it’s like a pre-pilot for DS9, setting up the Bajoran/Cardassian situation and making Trek politics significantly more gray. Michelle Forbes is great at bringing an edgier character to the cast, although it’s kinda sad they didn’t really DO anything with the character until her final appearance in s7. In a way that feels like wasted potential. Loved how well Guinan was used in this ep.
I always loved that episode as well - I love the Enterprise-D crew, but it didn't seem like they experienced the shadier and more desperate side of the alpha/beta quadrant all that much compared to the other crews. Characters like O'Brien and Ro were always welcome reminders that not everywhere was a paradise.

I have just watched Voyager's Endgame, and with it, the show in general. Just Nemesis, the Kelvin films, and Picard before I've finished a complete watch-through of all of Star Trek, more or less in timeline order. It has taken more than 18 months I think, but I am glad to have done it. It has reconnected me with parts of the Trekverse that I haven't visited since I was a teenager, and I have come to appreciate a lot more about it.

As for Voyager, I'm sadder in finishing it than I thought I would be when starting it. It wasn't perfect, but many individual episodes stood out - more than I would have guessed.

There were a lot of character moments in that finale that hit the target, showing how far the characters had come. I loved the scene where Paris refused to go back into the nebula, saying he had to think about his wife and baby. So different from the brash, reckless person he started out as!

"Such Sweet Sorrow, Part II" (DSC)

Just finished re-watching the second season of Disco in the span of two days. One of the "advantages" of forced downtime. I still holds up as well as I remembered.

TNG “Silicon Avatar” — bleaker than I remembered, a tragedy about a grieving mother who commits murder and destroys her career, without a shred of hope at the end. I didn’t realise that guest star Ellen Geer was the daughter of the actress who played Picard’s mother in “Where No One Has Gone Before” and Grandpa from The Waltons.

Followed by “Disaster”. I always liked this one as a kid. Lots of fun moments like Worf delivering Molly, Riker fiddling with Data’s head, and an eye-rolling Picard stuck with whining kids. But strangely there’s an almost complete lack of dramatic tension to the episode. Was it the limp directing, or the bland music? I feel DS9 did the premise better twice, with “Civil Defence” then “Starship Down”.

TNG “The Game”. The premise is nuts, an alien takes over the Enterprise with a weird sex game. But this is just a whole lot of daft fun, appropriately creepy, and I actually enjoyed the Wesley/Robin Lefler duo — why was Ashley Judd never featured again? The game addiction almost seems like a prophetic take on smartphone addiction...it even looks like that google glass thing that thankfully never took off.

TNG "The Schizoid Man" - To know him is to love him is to wish Patrick McGoohan took the role of Ira Graves, but W. Morgan Sheppard still made a memorable performance. (Spiner too shows his range as an android possessed...)

It's a great episode, showing to an extent a season 1 style produced in the season 5 format. It's surprisingly good.

Judd never returned to the show after "Darmok" and "The Game".

It's not foreshadowing smartphone addictions as such; it's just an analogue for another drug, and noting Nintendo GameBoy and other handheld systems were on the market they were just extrapolating on an existing theme. At different times, previous video games, card games, television, portable music, newspapers, etc, all had a stigma of addiction toward them.

Like most of Star Trek, it ranges from very good to “what the hell were they thinking?”
Even though it's not my favorite Trek series, it isn't bad so far. I never thought it deserved the extreme reactions it got.

I'm just passed the middle of the first season. My favorite episodes up to this point are: "Fortunate Son", "Dear Doctor", and "Sleeping Dogs".

I liked "Sleeping Dogs", thought the morality of "Dear Doctor" was fucked up and lacked any forethought on what kind of situation that world was actually facing.

This is the Star Trek I have watched in the last two days. I like what a random assemblage this all is, yet I can also see how each episode got me to the next one in sequence.

I watched every series except for Picard and Enterprise! (Or a Short Trek)

It is so great how MUCH Star Trek there is, the volume of product in this universe is an actual selling point. It takes so long to go through, you could never clearly remember the beginning by the time you reach the end, so it's like it's perpetually renewing itself.

VOY: "One Small Step"
TNG: "Conspiracy"
DS9: "Crossover"
TOS: "Wolf In The Fold"
DIS: "Project Daedalus"
DIS: "The Red Angel"
TAS: "One Of Our Planets Is Missing"
TAS: "The Lorelei Signal"
VOY: "Faces"
TNG: "Descent, Part II"
