Yeah, we just have no idea how long it takes to create, although we were told that Altan was having trouble in one particular area which Jurati just happened to have the skills to complete.It was supposed to be Alton’s. Oh well, maybe next year buddy.
No reason why Altan cant make himself another one in a reasonable time frame now that hurdle has been overcome.
Personally I would have the ultra deluxe immortal model with knobs on as its better to have it from the start, how can I not after reading Culture novels for so long.
I am still hoping that Picards body isn't as standard as they say, would be a good way to lighten the mood at times when he does something he shouldn't be able to out of the blue or when he needs it the most.
I hope… to be surprised by something unpredictable? If someone has hopes or predictions for PIC and they come to pass, wouldn’t that feel like a letdown? Why would they be hopes then? The entire writing staff couldn’t come up with something better than what one fan could foresee? How anti-climactic would it be (for example) to see PIC tie into DSC’s future just as you’d expect, or for the mysterious aliens to be related to some that are known from TNG and have even been mentioned online as a possibility?
I hope the crew of the La Sirena finds a planet of aliens who all look like white people and have a monolithic culture that clashes with our heroes, possibly putting one of their lives in danger. Then Picard tells them to knock it off and the crew leaves, and we never see this species again. Just like real Star Trek.

The output in recent Trek seasons from the infamous, Oscar winning writer/producer Akiva Goldsman is not as laughably bad as his 90s/00s movie stuff, but not amazing either (he's like an A-lister Kenneth Biller or Chris Chibnal).

An idea.. In S2 .. Have an episode or a few.. Do a flashback with Picard on the stargazzer.. With James mcovoy playing Picard.. Have it involve something that happened on the stargazzer.. Maybe jacks death..

So not entirely disagreeing with you, but there is a scene in Stardust City Rag where Raffi expresses admiration for what Seven has done as a Ranger. If you squint real hard, know about the hand holding kaltoh, you might seen a little teensy tiny bit of foreshadowing. But only if you are being super generous.
