According to Wilson Cruz and Anthony Rapp, post production is indeed being done by the folks at home, though it is going at a slower rate than normal.
Probably when they've firmly decided on a premiere date. Which could be a while, even with slower post production work ongoing. Indeed, I suspect if coronavirus wasn't a thing, we could have gotten a full trailer and premiere date now.
She was standing. She wasn't even acting. Is it her blackness that's so unforgiveable or her gender? I'm guessing if she was Jeri Ryan holding a flag she'd be giving you feels, amiright?
As much as I like Picard, it's good to get back to Discovery. I feel like I visited someone else's place for a while. And as great of a time as that was, Disco is home.
Your guess is as good as ours, unfortunately. Filming wrapped on the end of the season in February. Post-Production has been well underway and most of the episodes are likely complete, but I don't think they'll air the first episode of the season until the last one is finished. Otherwise, there would have to be a break somewhere in the middle of the season.
If I had to make an educated guess, the first full trailer for S2 came out in the summer of 2018, six months before S2 aired in January 2019. We got the first trailer for S3 in October, but they presumably wanted to keep to the focus on Picard. Now that that's over and they had a brief "Coming Soon" teaser for DSC S3 during Picard's season finale, they'll probably want to put out something to pick up momentum...
... so I think we'll see a trailer in April. They've probably had one done for months, but they've been sitting on it in order to keep the limelight on Picard.
So, you heard it from me. I think we'll get a new full trailer by April 30th. That's my bet.
They just wrapped a few weeks ago.........so nah. Not taking that long. Think the break between filming was longer because Picard was filming.

After every episode is filmed, they start with that immediately. Filming started in July and each episode takes about 2 to 3 weeks to film.
So they're now finishing the final episodes. The first ten will be finished most surely, so I bet they will release season three within a couple of months from now. April or May is my bet.

I think the problem is people still don't like the idea that the Federation has died. Just think about how much conflict has been made on Picard over the Federation being presented as evil, which they weren't but they also weren't shown to be a noble institution either. It all connects to each other that Kurtzman Trek is about destroying the hopeful optimism of old Trek and turning it into a generic sci-fi future where everything is kind of dark and grim and the tech lacks imagination and is just stuff that feels like updated takes on modern technology.

Only we know Discovery hasn't been all that good of a show so unlike Picard which was at least a well written take on this idea the show will continue to follow it's same past mistake of making Burnham into some savior like character despite the fact she isn't just all that interesting to really merit that kind of focus and why people keep wanting the show to become more about the entire crew instead of so Burnham specific.

Surely it means Discovery season 3 is about rebuilding the Federation and literally bringing that optimism back?
That's what I'm leaning towards.
That's the impression that I got from the NYCC teaser.
I am sure your hope will be for a naught. Season 3 will obviously be about rebuilding the Federation after it was destroyed/failed somehow in the past, maybe to even bring back peace to the galaxy as a whole and as Burnham is the clear main character of the show she surely will be portrayed as a big savior character. She will be the bright shining light in the darkness who will end people's suffering, who will bring back peace and prosperity and so on and so forth.
Despite being named for the ship and not the person, Discovery is the Michael Burnham show. She will forever be the centre of everything that happens in it. It's one of those things where you either roll with it or you're not gonna have a good time.
