I said that after the first episode and I think I'm pretty much ready to call it Battlestar Capricard™. And no, that's not an indictment. I quite enjoyed this season and consier it to be among the best that Trek has had to offer. What a show they've created from one episode and a few throwaway references to A.I. intollerance. I'm just surprised at how much it reminds me of the latest Battlestar Galactica and Caprica with its focus on oppression, rebellion and finding a new home, along with a message from an unseen or yet to be seen influencer. Yes, it's happening again.

And if I'm not mistaken, the folks in charge said that this season would tell a complete story. Or did they just say that it would be like a 10-hour movie and I'm just imagining things. :o Either way, I think that they'll need some sort of closure or finality to what's been going on so far and I can't wait to see how they rush this chapter to a conclusion in a single episode.

How will our gang fend off a Romulan invasion?

Will Worf and the Enterprise show up to help a-la Pike? It'd be funny if they pulled that one again.

Will Riker (ha!) show up for active duty?

What's going on with the golem?

Who left the message behind and what do they want?

Hopefully all of you are comfortable at home and ready for a good hour of fun to take your mind off our current sci-fi scenario come true.

Here are some of the comments made by Exec producer (and director of this episode) Akiva Goldsman:

This is where legacy characters and new characters become the same. This is where—as you will see by the end of the season—you start to see what the palette will look like moving forward.

As hopefully is the case for all good beginnings, everything is in motion, all the critical players are on the board. And now we are going to see what we like to see, which is who wins, who loses, or in this case: who lives and who dies?

Why do I find this quotes sound eerily similar to what Cersei said to Ned Stark in 'Game of Thrones':
"In the Game of Thrones, you win or you die!"
I hope it is not a bad omen for Picard (who is portayed as dying in Episode 9) or to any of the main characters :confused:

Death is seemingly coming for someone. But who? And who do we really care about other than Picard?

Trouble is I don't have much investment on the other main characters other than PIcard, so I'm not sure if their deaths would've had effect on me.
If Oh, Narissa, or Narek died during the finale, well, good riddance

I really like Rios, Raffi, and Elnor. I wouldn't mind if Jurati died (sacrificing herself for the others perhaps). And unless the Romulan plot continues next series I expect either Narissa or Narek or Oh (or all of them) to die.

Also, I don't want Clancy to die. I think she's brilliant.

And of course, it goes without saying that I want Picard to survive. And not in an AI golem body either. I'd hate that.

Those are my top three of the new crew as well. I'd also be unhappy about Seven biting it, but after all the set-up they've done with her character, I'm pretty sure she's safe.

If Narissa and/or Narek live, I'm gonna be actively displeased. They're two of the weakest villains of the franchise, imo, and I'm ready for them to go. But the showrunner seems to really like them, so... :angryrazz:. Oh can stay on as a lurking big bad with a grudge or something, I'm fine with that.

I think that for the title of the final episodes to work (and I think Chabon wants these types of things to work), someone will die who has experienced paradise. That makes me think the synths snuffeth. My best guess at this point is that the Admonition is a prisoner's dilemma, and both the Zhat Vash and the synths (through Sutra, primarily) will make the wrong choice.

You had to, unless you were living in a cave for the last month, on Mars, with your eyes shut and your fingers in your ears ;)

Yeah it could be a test for both sides or a gigantic trap for everyone.

I dont think that colony is going to survive what is to come, I do think Soji will though and probably Narek.

Perhaps the Intelligence will take the synths away instead, it would be a bit of a damp ending though so I doubt it.

I don't allow myself to get attached to Admirals, they tend to die too easily.

Clancy could go either way at this point.
