But hopefully not the Squadron doesn't consist of Constitution or Miranda-class ships. Seeing them during the Dominion War was OK (a tribute to TOS plus Starfleet needed all the ships it could get in a major crisis).
We never saw a Constitution-class in service in the TNG era.

Just a place where stuff happens to me.

The ships are more important to me than most of the characters

I see them as main characters. In order of importance to me in each show:

Kirk, Spock, Bones
Enterprise
Uhura, Sulu, Chekov, Scotty
Aliens of the Week
Redshirts

Picard, Data, Riker
Ent-D
Crusher, Worf, Geordi
Aliens of the Week
Troi

The Sisko, Dax, Garak, Bashir, Quark, Odo
DS9, Defiant
Recurring characters of the Week
Kira

Tuvok, Seven, EMH
Voyager
Janeway, Chakotay, Paris, Torres
Aliens of the Week
Neelix, Kes

Archer, Trip, Reed
T'Pol, Malcolm, Hoshi
Aliens of the Week
NX-01

Saru, Hugh, Paul
Pike, Spock
Discovery
Tilly
Unfamiliar Bridge Crew of the Week
The Klingons

Picard
Data, Riker, Troi
Hugh, Seven
Rios, Raffi, Aggie
Elnor, Oh, Clancy
La Sirena
Dahj, Soji, Narek, Narissa

I can’t be the only one who first heard about Picard thought, “I wonder what new ships we will see?”

What was wrong with the NX-01? I thought it was quite a good design. Better than Discovery at least.

I also got excited about seeing new ships and props.

The NX-01 was too close to the Akira for me, and looked appropriately primitive in the details, but I like the Akira and its 24th century details a lot more. The only ENT Starfleet ship I kinda like is the Intrepid.

Of course it's about ships. Is there a Trekkie alive (or dead) that has never owned even a single Enterprise model?
Me. I've watched Star Trek most of my life. Grew up on TNG, DS9 and Voyager through my childhood and teens. Collected tie-in novels with my pocket money (still have a few of those). Watched the 09 movie when it was released. Came back to TV Trek for Discovery (belatedly, once I got Netflix) and now Picard. I've always watched Star Trek, always been a fan. Never owned a single Enterprise model, nor ever wanted one. For this fan, Star Trek is all about the characters and stories. The ships are just the setting.

That never occurred to me until I started watching Trekyards that it was similar. To me I just see it that the Akira was a design influenced by the NX class in universe. The designer was a fan of Archer or something.

I have about 60 ship models and 18 prop models, but only 6 action figures (that I can remember right now)

Me.
I think as a child, I once had a model rocket or maybe Challenger type of ship, but that's it.

I'm not a collector anyway. If I had models, I'd probably be more of a space station person.

Never owned any Star Trek models, no DVD's, Blurays or books except for the Shatner ones.

I did have a complete Star Trek Fact Files though, 10 huge binders worth, all gone now.

What can I say, I am a sucker for a good cut away diagram.
