Liked:
B'Elanna Torres' alien robot friend resurrected himself and serves as the complex's butler.
Was that Julian Bashir hiding amongst the shrubbery?
It was refreshing to see a darker side of Captain Pike for a change.
I'm curious to see how the Federation will handle Grand Nagus Rom's "financial acquisition" of Mr. Hospitality.
The scene where Rios and Raffi do LSD together is a perfect reminder that the Federation is open to Alex Kurtzman echoing Walter Bishop from Fringe.

Disliked:
Still no sign of Beverly.
"Beautiful Flower" = "B4" disrespects Star Trek's heritage by reminding us how silly a name "B4" was in the first place.
At the precise pace that Seven and Elnor are traveling, they should have slammed into at least 23,779 suns. Is there no science officer behind the scenes on this show?

Uncertain:
A Janeway cameo is all well and good, but maybe they should have held off if Kate Mulgrew was unavailable for filming this year. I'm not sure how I feel about seeing her salamander offspring instead.

I'm giving it a 7/9.

Quite frankly, I was shocked to find out in the post-credits scene that Mirror Georgiou was behind the Zhat Vash the whole time. Not to mention the "cavalry shows up" scene at the climax when a surviving Captain Killy inexplicably turned out to be the leader of the Fenris Rangers, somehow not having aged a single day in 120+ years.

On the other hand, the synths harboring all those Harry Mudd androids in various states of disrepair and mental instability was a nice little in-joke. Not to mention the Garak cameo... the wording of his line seemed to imply he's married to Bashir, I could barely contain contain my glee!

Of course it's about ships. Is there a Trekkie alive (or dead) that has never owned even a single Enterprise model?

-raises hand-

I was all about the action figures and EU novels, and I covered my room with TNG and DS9 posters and postcards to the point that you couldn't see the wallpaper. No model ships, though.

Of course it's about ships. Is there a Trekkie alive (or dead) that has never owned even a single Enterprise model? I've had several, including the ORIGINAL Enterprise-E -- i.e. the one I created in 1990 using a plastic model of this:

As a child we had a refrigerator binder clip magnet that I would hold upside down and pretend was the Enterprise, does that count?

Do you think the Starfleet Squadron be led by the Enterprise-E, commanded by Captain Worf? If the faceoff happens toward the end of part 1 finale, the Enterprise and the Squadron arrival might be one of the cliffhangers....

Riker is most likely going to be reactivated and leading the squadron. But, as I've outlined elsewhere, there's a high probability that Worf will appear at the end of the season in some capacity.

I have a feeling we're not done with Brent
It's very likely that he's some version of Beautiful Flower, which is why we never got to see any depiction of BF in 1x08. I'm sure Spiner would enjoy playing a role without pancake makeup, since BF is supposed to look human rather being immediately identifiable as an android.

What about Captain Crusher? They could kill two birds with one stone. Bring him back to command a ship then destroy it with all hands lost in the battle, that episode's TNG character death. Some TNG fans would be thrilled to see Wesley blown to smithereens.

All the speculations, all the predictions ...

It's fun, it really is.

But I like to just wait and see.

Because I have a job and I'm busy and stuff. :techman:
