Episode 7 and Soji tilts her head like Data for the very first time....

Second time, but first time when it was noticed by another character.

EDIT: Ninja'd by mere moments :D

I don't think anyone pointed this out, sorry if it's a repeat. Isn't it all kinds of crappy that Jonathan Frakes is called out in the opening credits, Jeri Ryan is called out in the opening credits, but Marina Sirtis is a special guest star dropped in the closing credits? Why not do Frakes and Sirtis together in the opening?

I believe I read there was timing issues fir the sequence.

Because she's a genius scientist.
And a medical doctor on top of that.
Don't know if this was taken from any kind of behind the scenes material from the show or anything, but according to the novel The Last Best Hope, Agnes did have a background as a medical doctor before she went into cybernetics.
Chabon confirmed it explicitly.

I wish they would stop doing that. It just spoils the reveal.

How an actor is listed in the credits depends entirely on how they request to be listed in the credits. Jonathan Frakes and Jeri Ryan were listed in the opening credits because that's what they requested. Marina Sirtis is not listed in the opening credits because she did not request it.

If the actor requests it, they have to do it. Besides, these are all people we've known were going to be in the show since the summer. There was no reveal to spoil.

And before anyone brings up times where a surprise cameo is withheld until the end credits, that's done with the actor's permission. The actor is well within their rights to refuse this request, even if it "spoils the reveal."

Generally, it would be nice to see Sirtis up front. However, there are some complicated mechanics that talent agents use to determine what kind of credit they would prefer their actors to have over others. I can't claim to understand it, but it's there.

The question we should be asking is why didn't Marina Sirtis request it?

Exactly. IMO Sirtis gave one of her stronger performances as Deanna Troi in any Trek series in 'Nepenthe.' Troi used her talents and experience as a counselor in conseling both Picard and Soji and these scenes were better acted than 90 percent of her TNG screen time. In TNG usually Troi was treated as either a sex object or a passive victim of the alien guest-star-of-the-week who either emotionally abused or 'mind-raped' her. Sirtis has also spoke out repeatedly about how TNG show-runners had mishandled her character so much thoughout the series run.

I think some explanations from the 'Picard' show runners are in order now. Otherwise, the apparently unequal labeling in the opening/closing credits could've resulted in many Sirtis/Troi fans accusing them of 'mistreating' her again :confused:.

Thanks to you and the others, I assumed a slight where perhaps there was none. I also thought she did a great job in the episode...
