Prior to PIC I’ve read complaints about killing them off just to give Picard some tragedy, as well as numerous complaints about killing off Kirk. GEN was viewed as pretty flawed by many fans, while FC is viewed more favorably.

Forgot about Nemesis too. People complained about killing off Data in attempt to imitate Spock’s sacrifice in TWOK. The TNG films, as a whole, weren’t that great IMO. Some great moments here and there but nowhere near as epic as the two-parters in the show or the TOS films.Because losing Data just WASN'T enough ...
Obviously what should've happened in Generations was that both Kirk and Ensign Nobody were sucked into the Nexus at the same time. And then during the end battle, instead of Kirk jumping for the remote, he orders Ensign Nobody to do it and then the Ensign is the one who falls to his death. Because that would be more heroic for Kirk.
Star Trek Picard is a very bad show done by people who doesnt know anything about Star Trek, putting Patrick as producer to hide the real embarrasement this is. I'm really proud of how a lot of people is saying the same and ofc those who are enjoying It , have a good time watching how they torture , cut heads , kill loved characters, ignore 24th Century canon, convert 7 of 9 in some kind of Terminator firing at all moving thing and some other really truly Star Trek hahahah

Nah, it really is. It’s just a different type of Trek that you don’t enjoy. And it’s really okay that you don’t. But incessantly suggesting that those who enjoy it are terrible is getting grating. Characters die. They have tragedy. That happens as much in real life as it does in fiction. Sometimes you have to have darkness in order to appreciate the light. Sometimes you have to go through that darkness to reach the light.
Im sorry you don’t like Star Trek: Picard. But maybe you should put yourself out of the misery that bothers you so much and simply stop watching and stop taking about it. You might find yourself to be happy to be away from all this “terribleness.”
Which is why we have musical call-backs that are 54 years old. Because the creators ....don't know anything about the show.

Well...we run into Shatner/Stewart problems. When they insist their characters get more action and such and we have to ask, "Who knows them better...us or the actors?"

Furthermore, no one enjoys watching torture. You're not supposed to. You're supposed to not find it pleasant. It puts you in Seven's place, so you feel what she feels. Did you enjoy watching torture in "Chain of Command"? I'm guessing you didn't. But you must've understood the dramatic necessity. It's the same case here, but you can't see it because of your bias.
How about the graphic-for-1968 torture of McCoy in "The Empath(TOS)"? Surely the story of Gem, the Vians and the Minaran sun going nova could have been depicted without the torture.
