Just saw it. Loved it.

great to see Riker and Troi again. Liked Kestra a lot.

I was hoping Elnor would kill Rizzo but no such lock. Hopefully she gets it next week.

next week episode looks to be great.

I think Seven will do the honor to 'assimilate' or 'terminate' Rizzo (whichever she chooses).

I agree. Next week episode looks great. Looks like there'll be plenty of shootouts between Romulans controlling the Cube vs the other Romulan faction who's invading it (or are they part of the Fenris Rangers)??

And the trailer seems to hint that
by attaching herself to the Queen's alcove, Seven would either become the new Borg Queen or at least the leader of the surviving XBs

I just hope she'll survive the episode. After the show-runners killed Icheb and Hugh:(:(, I hope Seven will survive in the Trek-verse as a leader of a newly formed XB communes ;);)....

I really hope they don’t go
Borg Queen
with Seven.

I have more thoughts for another time, but I literally came here just to say, "Marina Sirtis is a gift to Star Trek and they finally gave her an episode that did justice to the character."

I can count on one hand the episodes that really showcased Deanna well, and this was one of them in a really satisfying way.

Coincidentally this came out a couple weeks ago

What does all this talk and in-depth analysis accomplish, exactly? Does it really create additional enjoyment for you? Just watch the show! :D I'm glad I'm not a trekkie...
Heh ... You're hanging out here after watching the episode and commenting ...

Whether you acknowledge it or not, you are definitely a "Trekkie" just like the rest of us.
:vulcan:
:nyah:

I believe this episodes confirms Oh, Rizzo and Narek are Zat Vash. Rizzo admits it in her talk with Elnor. Narek is working with her and using the tracking device given by Oh to Jurati.

Oh might think she's Zhat Vash, but Narissa already said she was simply an ally in an earlier episode (although, yes, Oh seems to think she's in charge as well).

About 25 minutes in, a few random notes...
What is this strange apocalyptic vision that Oh gave to Aggie?
Thad, named after Will's ancestor Colonel Thaddius Riker?
Deanna can't read emotion from Soji, but she could sense emotion from Data in "Descent"? Hmm.
"Is it cake?"

Oh, I didn't catch the Thaddeus Riker connection. Kristen Beyer is probably to thank for that detail!

"Descent" is so jarringly and gut-weenchingly awful....can't we just forget?

there haven't been many forceable mindmelds done in trek, if I recall correctly
the last one was (not counting a dying man, and one in a coma) was basically a rape.

The Capaldi years only got better and better IMO. The idea of having him come into his own over time was a great one; I just wish it hadn't taken as big of a chunk of his overall time as the Doctor. But I'm also a big fan of Moffat's Doctor Who in general.
Nah. Moffat's Doctor Who reached its pinnacle during Series Six.
