Why did Picard cut Riker off when he said he knew him for 35 years? Let the man finish a sentence XD
This broken Captain Crandall figured out the system and sector in 20 seconds based only on the "2 red moons and lightning" information Kestra apparently texted him. He must be involved...

- Loved everything on Nepenthe. Riker and Troi helping further rehabilitate Picard to being the captain they remember. I don't think they needed to have them having lost a child though. Kestra was a great kid character.
- Hugh dying was a little crushing.

So does anyone know how Seven's Fenris Rangers beacon ended up there? Was it Picard's or is it a different one?
I guess we'll have to assume that Jean-Luc somehow dropped it and Elnor was just damn lucky to have come across it again.

Maybe he's another conspiracy believer like Raffi.
Might be why he's not in Star Fleet anymore.

thought it was another really great episode, bringing back will and deanna was classily handled and their kid wasn’t annoying. the action stuff was cool.

but hugh dying was a dick move, so much wasted potential for the character. and i really want to like agnes, but they pushed her so hard emotionally it’s hard not to just think she’s a wreck. we needed more time with these people before seeing them at the breaking point.

all in all, i’m loving picard and i love that i have no idea what’s happening next week.

SO, with Juarti in a coma, will Rios blame Raffi for poisoning her with the cake?

It's a stretch on his part, but I think he's emotionally blinded toward Agnes at the moment.
(he didn't get what she was trying to tell him about her involvement)

Will the EMH be able to determine that she poisoned herself?

The mind meld at the beginning was very similar to Spock’s in Discovery. A rather piece of poor story telling to use the same trope you did just before.

I will be probably in the minority. This episode was hard for me to watch. It was plodding and repetitive. How many repetitions do I have to endure in this series? I am developing a better understanding of why in films and tv shows that when characters are asked about how they came to be at a place, we usually do not see the full conversation, just the ending.

The story and/or plot editing is atrocious. One of the many reasons given for why scenes are cut is that the audience has already been given this exposition, there is no reason to repeat it again. In this episode, there is Bruce Maddox and there is the event in the mediation chamber. Have it mentioned briefly that there was a conversation about these events in scenes we have not seen, give us new information, and move the story and/or plot forward.

This is Discovery season 2, from a different direction. This conflict between AIs and Humans dates to the very early stories of robots from the 1920s. It really needs a talented hand to tell it well. I do not feel the writers of either Discovery or Picard are that talented.

Maybe next week we will have an explanation for why there is this conflict. They have three episodes left, so somewhere we will get an explanation for some of what we are seeing that has occurred. One can only hope.

The hypo-spray should be on the floor, and it should have traces of residue. The replicator logs should be able to determine that it was made while both Rios and Raffi were on the bridge.

I didn't think about Discovery at all while I was watching this (and I say this as someone who actually is a fan of Discovery). I was more focused on enjoying the episode than looking for things to find wrong with it.

As far as mind-melds, that's what Vulcans do. That's one way of communicating a whole ton of information really fast and making Jurati a seemingly True Believer.

Yeah. I'm really hoping they don't link the synthapocalypse to Control. And as powerful as mind melds probably would be, I have trouble believing one would cause a person to murder--and murder a loved one, at that!

If anybody takes the time to look... before jumping the gun and playing the blame game.

The meld was literally showing machines destroying planets. How is that not the same.

Nice view of a Borg sphere docked to the cube in the preview!
And Anika being Assimilated ... Again!?!?

:wtf:

Why is Picard kind of an ass all of a sudden? He cuts off Will like a monarch silencing a subject, and the reactions from Will in the earlier scene suggest Picard's an ar-ro-gant son-of-a-...something or other... Also at dinner Picard suggests nothing can stop him since he now has a mission, and Raffi last episode described him as all rampaging id... This is not the man I remember.

EXACTLY ...
This IS that Man you remember, Twenty-some odd years later.

With a butt-load of hardships under his belt and a gut full of anguish for not doing the right thing.

If Soji is a super smart android, can't she do a super fast internet search on Picard to determine for herself whether he's trustworthy? He's not exactly an unknown figure.
