Maybe the languages will come up again. It just felt somewhat shoehorned in for me.

Two things I forgot...
- Troi not "feeling" Soji, even though she has emotion nd is advaned/ humanlike, when Troi could feel Data's emotions... Hopefully this will be explained later.
- The Trois accepting their son's death, who could easily have been saved with forbidden tech... Wouldn't they rather have tried to find a cure elsewhere? They'd have the connections to go to... say... Freecloud to find a shady scientist specialising in that kind of tech.
Oh, and the ep definitely gave me a craving for pizza!

After further thoughts, I’m more convinced now that Hugh is not dead dead. He died without avenging his fellow xBs. She’s going to have to pay for that. He’ll be back...

Interesting episode. Sorry to see Hugh go. I liked catching up with Will and Deanna and meeting Kestra. I think there was some interesting character development in this episode and definitely a chance to slow down before we enter the home stretch. Of course, as suggested when only a few people had seen the episode, I am fully expecting Will to return to service to save the day in the final episode of the season. Agnes is definitely cuckoo but seeing a mind meld where you see everything destroyed would probably do that to you. As others have said, I really hope we're at about an end with Rizzo.

And now I want pizza.

A bit of speculation: I've heard in some groups that they believe Sela's the big bad of the season. I don't know about that but I'm still kind of wondering (and I may not have mentioned it) if Lore has something to do with all of this. References to him have been conspicuously absent.

And it felt so anti-climactic, especially for an anticipated character. Star Trek seems to have its way of bringing people back. I hope he comes back again.

Seven is coming back. I think she'll take care of that.

It was a slow-paced episode as people already mentioned, with a really stupid villain. Dumber than shit!!!

I just have one question. If the evidence is so compelling that Jurati agreed to murder her (former?) lover why didn't Oh mind-meld with Picard himself? In France, we have a say: "if vaut mieux s'adresser au bon dieu plutot qu'a ses saints".
, IE "It's better to talk to God than to one of his saints."

IOW, either Jurati is a damn fool or Oh is.

Ok, Kestra was named after Deanna's sister but I am sure someone already mentioned that. That's the problem with these giants thread, everything has been said at least a dozen times over before I get to make a comment, so please don't anyone tell me that!!! I know!

Plus Kestra's brother is dead. I mean the Troi family sounds like a Greek tragedy...

Get it? Greek tragedy... Troi!! Humor!!

IMO, the weakest episode so far. Frankly, I prefer gore (even if I don't like it) to... well... nothing.

Great episode!

It was wonderful seeing Troi and Riker again. We get some backstory on their lives after Nemesis. We meet their daughter. She was not annoying as children can sometimes be on Star Trek. She had personality. She made a good connection with Sohji. There were also some great character moments with Troi, Riker and Picard. You could see the history between them, the friendship. Troi goes into counselor mode, doing a great job with both Sohji and Picard. Riker acts a lot like a First Officer again, making sure people are safe, giving advice to Riker to help him on his mission.

Good action sequence on the Borg cube. Were those the same Romulan fighters that the Scimitar had in Nemesis? They looked similar.

They killed Hugh! I was genuinely shocked at that scene!

Interesting to see Jurati tormented by her actions. She almost came clean to Rios when he mistakenly thought that Raffi was the one being tracked.

Not sure yet about the synthapocalypse that Jurati saw in the mind meld. I think we need more context before we can judge it. Is it is a self-fulfilling prophecy? We don't know.

Overall, a great character piece with some nice action.

Because JL would have given her a long, arrogant speech about the future not being set in stone and would have gathered his knights of the round table anyway to go on his Arthurian quest.

So you mean with all her diplomas, Jurati is so stupid that she'll be fooled by evidence that wouldn't fool Picard or that Picard is so dumb that with all his experience and wisdom he can't understand irrefutable evidence when he sees it?

It's either one or the other!!!

I could buy that Sela is the Big Bad because knowing her mother had drunken sex with an android has left her unhinged.

Try as I may I can't picture a mother sharing that secret with her six-year-old daughter... Unless she herself is a great deal more than unhinged...

he's certainly not dumb. but he has a history of being very, very stubborn
