That was a nice and even beautiful episode. Yeah, it's 59 minutes of fanwank but even the best Trek can be fanwank.

It's almost as if Dukat decided to make fun of someone in particular.... Nah. That's too obvious a strategy for Dukat to use.

    watched it, voted, have opinions.

all in all this episode is mostly fanservice, which I usually dislike unless it's done well. here, I think, it works, mostly because Marina is one hell of an actress in her scenes.

the Jurati plot is moving forwards, which is good; the trust-issues of Soji were well written and believable and were kinda the episode's highlight; the child actor was pretty solid and for some reason gave me young Kirsten Dunst vibes; the pacing of the episode was excellent, probably the best paced episode this season.

there was something off with the scenes on the cube, but I can't put my finger on it atm

I suddenly want brick oven pizza. And I'm now having to go back and see if Riker mounted a chair the right way.

When Troi said Thad couldn't be saved because of the ban on the development of synth technology, that reminded me of the ban and restrictions on stem cell research.

Because of this, I think in the end, AI in Picard will be portrayed ultimately as a positive thing, unlike in the second season of Discovery. So, if I'm right, they're not the same. They're the opposite.

I thought he said Xindi, but yes, he said Kzinti.

Xindi would also have worked. That would been a nice reference. That almost 250 years after Archer made peace with the Xindi that something else might have flared up.

In the Novels Bashir is rendered catatonic and wheelchair bound and left in the care of Garak.

Riker has to protect his 'medicinal' crop somehow...

Or the Eugenics ban that could have saved Archer’s dad.

Kestra looks a lot like I'd picture my own daughter if I had one. The actress has a pretty decent resemblance to me and if I had a kid I'd half-expect them to be nerdy and into fantasy and fiction.

MY kid would take her brick oven pizza to her room and spend all night on the 24th century equivalent of a message board. :)

Who is this other captain Kestra was referring to? Is he a known character? Sounds to me he might be part machine considering how fast he got that information.
