Spoilers On Seven and sexuality

Yeah, I couldn't help but think of that word whenever I heard the name. Incidentally, has anyone read any of the "Space Team" books?

And another. It could be argued that she would be less pained by sexual references than she would be emotional ones. It would be consistent with the Seven we know, and Bajay-jay would know that wasn't even the "sore-point", as it were.

The betrayal of the emotional intimacy, the close relationship, would be a bigger issue. Sex—well, we saw very early on in Voyager that was simply not an issue that intimidated her, not as much as relationships.

Just watched the episode. Call me dense, but I didn’t remotely pick up any innuendo or outright statements that Seven and Bjayzl were former lovers. Would someone care to enlighten me as to what infers this? Or is this more idiocy from the same people who thought Seven and Picard were former lovers based on the few scenes from the trailers before PIC premiered?

I don't think this is a useful definition of evil. In the absence of any functioning justice system, the options are killing her or letting her go. Seven chose the option which makes the galaxy a little bit better.

They do have a functioning justice system though. I mean I think murder would still be illegal in the Federation. The Federation isn't that far gone. In theory they could simply abduct her and take her to Federation space to stand trail. Also I assume Vegas planet must also have a local government and police as well.

Jurisdiction must be tricky near Romulan space right now.

I don't see how that hypothesis can work. If there was a functioning justice system, why didn't it do something years ago?

I always thought that the Mirror Universe folks were all Bi.

Only the women it seems. I think they are gender fluid though in general if you go with what Georgiou said not just about her but also Stamets and Culber from the mirror universe.

Georgiou indicated Mirror Stamets and Culber were pansexual. Which means something different than gender fluid.

Of course, this thread exists because some posters do think there's evidence for the former. (I can read the scene either way.)

And as mentioned, this is what not making a big deal out of it looks like.

I interpreted their interaction as having clear sexual undercurrents, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the were in any form of intimate relationship.

It was....ambiguous.

Interesting that there' such a ready association between villainy and sexuality. For some reason the Mirror Universe does sex up the characters and make their sexual expression more flexible. Arguably that's simply the cast being allowed to camp it up for fun but when there's such a tendency to rewrite everyone as much more sexually open when evil it strikes a chord.

Also note how we seemingly have no problem with promiscuous males as the hero, but after hundreds of hours our first genuinely promiscuous female in the main cast just so happens to be the Empress of a evil empire, in notable contrast to her very upright Prime Universe counterpart.

That's Berman Trek in a nutshell. Everyone not heteronormative must be evil

Honestly, Star Trek's portrayal of sexuality is one of the least appealing aspects of the franchise.

Yeah... I really want them to write a professional and heroic female Starfleet character with similar attitude towards romance than Kirk or Riker had. She has to make out with at least couple of hot alien ladies each season.

The Fenris Rangers took over Romulan Space, or at the least, the neutral zone.

They are the law.

Although they're cash poor and falling down after benevolently guarding the frontier for 20 years.
