The Qo Milan sound like a cross between the Dora Milage and the Bene Gesseritt. The Romulans are apparently, as spiritual as the Vulcans. That surprises me. Thought the two groups were as opposite as it gets.
I'm reminded of how various Totalitarian governments have tried to stamp out religion but none the less it perseveres. Sometimes is secret.

Picard recognizing Seven right away means that she was VERY famous when Voyager got home from the Delta Quadrant or at least very famous within Starfleet circles. Being the most famous former Borg drone after Locutus must have had its benefits when wanting people to take notice of you.

She might be even more famous than many of her former shipmates.
Or Picard remembered her from his time as "Locutus".

I'm going back several pages to something that's frankly much more interesting than an endless circle.

Namely intentions on Picard's part that I hadn't noticed on first viewing...
How did Picard get away with chewing out Elnor for the Senator's death, when he basically provoked the whole incident?
This is a good point. I think he went in knowing that Elnor would save his skin. But he didn't know how far Elnor would go. I think he thought Elnor would beat Senator in a fight and it would stop there.

Like getting a Klingon warrior to join your quest though, he should not have been surprised that killing is something that they are very comfortable doing, particularly in a situation like that. He wants Starfleet rules of engagement I suppose.

But if all this is a point blank refusal to accept the reality of changing word usuage, I will be happy to coin a new term. It will mean the same thing however.
How about a new term that doesn't immediately bring with it all the history and misuse of the term "Mary Sue" especially since it isn't really appropriate in context of the current discussion, as elucidated by many here.

"Mary Sue" has just become lazy shorthand. It adds nothing.

No, not even close. There a dozens of usages. As the author says, "TV Tropes doesn't get to set what the term means; the best we can do is capture the way it is used." There is no consensus on a precise definition and dozens of usages now exist. The article author does not, and does not claim, to able to say they are "not accurate".

There is no such thing, in any human language as "true meaning". All meanings are always the subjective creation of the people who create them. Words mean what we say they mean. New words get invented, older terms take on new meanings. "Rock" in English refers to a form of music, or a stone. IN German, "Rock" means "Skirt".

But if all this is a point blank refusal to accept the reality of changing word usuage, I will be happy to coin a new term. It will mean the same thing however.
No, making appeals to authority for a definition then complaining there is no one definition so all is subjective just renders your entire argument ridiculous.

I never did that. I made no appeal to authority. Someone asked for examples of other uses of a term. I provided a link where dozens of such examples were given. That's it.

I said throughout that there are many definitions, and so all the people saying there was just the one were wrong. And they are indeed wrong.

Which, in of itself, is rather useless to the discussion. Now we are locked in a debate about which definition of the word to use in discussion. So, the discussion itself has been rendered rather meaningless due to lack of consensus on the use of said term.

But, as long as we can be right, right? :sigh::shrug:

You're flailing. You have been wrong all along from the meaning of Mary Sue to who is writing the show.

Ummmm....
T'Bonz suggested several pages ago that She would prefer that that particular subject be dropped.

Perhaps now is as good as time as any to move on.

She already phasered used Her VARON-T and disrupted one poster out of existence recently,
I'm pretty sure most of us would prefer not to be the next one caught in Her tractorbeam.
;)
