    There are no time rules.

MIc can take her to the Wave Rider for a conjugal, and give her a sports almanac of future sports.

As long as she keeps a low profile, no one should care.

Why does Matt Ryan always seem to be in a different show from everyone else; getting only one or two scenes with (non-Gary) cast members in a episode? He even has a different credit from everyone else.

^ They should do like the old shows with different segments and make it The Legends of Tomorrow/Constantine Power Hour.

Well, that's in character, as he's not really a team player, and the current crisis is a very personal one to him so he probably feels he needs to handle it alone. He'll probably get grudgingly pushed into accepting the Legends' help more as the season goes on. And a lot of the characters right now are off doing their own things.

That's about contracts, not story content. If a new cast member is added to an ongoing series, their credit normally goes at the end, since the other actors' relative credit placement is set by their contracts and it wouldn't be fair to demote one. But if the new cast member is a bigger role or gets paid more than some of the others, then they get a special notation before their name to compensate for the low position. I believe the practice was created for "Special Guest Star Jonathan Harris" when he was added to Lost in Space after the pilot and they didn't want to bill him lower than the three child actors. But it's become standard ever since. In Matt Ryan's case, he formerly played this character as the star of his own series, so it stands to reason that he'd be entitled to a high-ranking credit.

On the other hand, the Arrowverse Wiki lists him under "Recurring Cast," but I'm not sure if that's accurate.

Didn't Katie Cassidy get a similar credit when she came back to Arrow as Earth-2 Laurel?

Probably. When high-billed cast members leave and then come back, the ones below them get promoted in credits order (and salary) and it would be wrong to demote them again, so the returning cast member is appended at the end with a prestige credit. That was done with Michael Shanks when he returned to Stargate SG-1 after a year away -- he went from second-billed to last-billed with a special credit. Which is considered approximately the same thing.

True, but at first it was unclear if they were homaging Psycho, Carrie, or both.

But then I realized they were doing the original FRIDAY THE 13TH, where the slasher-killer actually turns out to be Jason's mother.

There was bit of misdirection there. The seeming slasher was "Freddy Meyer" which was an obvious mashup of "Freddy Krueger" and "Michael Myers," but then they went the "Jason's mom" route instead.

Favorite line, btw: "Babe, we're the final girls!"

I did not know that. One of those cases where they changed the original's intent to generate endless sequels, I guess.

There is a set up for Jason at the end of the first movie, so they at least already had the idea of him showing up that early. The very last shot of the movie is Jason popping up out of the water in the lake by the summer camp where all of the killings take place.

Diana Muldaur had a special credit for all of her appearances on TNG as well.

That was different -- remember, she wasn't billed in the main titles with the regular cast, but in the guest star credits at the start of the first act (a distinction that's blurred these days now that all the credits are usually shown at the start of the first act). Similarly to Martin Landau in season 1 of Mission: Impossible, Muldaur didn't want to commit to a regular contract, so she was billed as a special guest star even though she was essentially a regular.

I enjoyed the episode. As a fan of horror and 80's/70's slasher films it gave me a Scream vibe with all the great references. Nice mash-up of the movies. The cast did a great job on this one as well--silly and fun while still maintaining a sense of action. My only quibble is that this show has become more Challengers of the Unknown in that why bother giving anyone powers at all when they basically operate as a non-powered adventurers?

That's the effect of having the lowest budget of all the Arrowverse* shows, while also having the most super powered characters.

    *Should it be Flashverse now?

If anything, given how Crisis ended, it's more literally the Arrowverse than ever.

Well, according to ScreenRant, last week's episode showed a tag on Freddy Meyers's body bag stating clearly that Central City is in Missouri, as in the comics. Which is hard to reconcile with the statement in the Flash pilot that Central City is only 600 miles from Star City, which we now know from Cisco's Earth Prime map in "Marathon" to correspond roughly to Portland, Oregon. Well, maybe Earth-Prime's Central City is further from Star, though that wouldn't explain why they share Iron Heights Penitentiary. (Unless it's a franchise?)

So they’re doing the Constantine lung cancer arc from the comics.

Okay, so Astra's magic-using mother is not the Judith who was name-dropped in Constantine, but an original character called Natalie. A missed opportunity for some subtle continuity. Odd that she's English when Astra has an American accent.

There was one bit of subtle continuity, though. Presumably Sara's "business in Star City" was Oliver's memorial in the Arrow finale.

In the main plot, it's a weird and never-explained coincidence that Marie Antoinette looked just like Nora Darhk. I guess they just wanted an excuse to keep using Courtney Ford. Anyway, the story was a nice way to reintegrate Zari into the Legends, in her new incarnation.

I only just noticed that Zari's and Behrad's surname changed -- it's now Tarazi instead of Tomaz. The wiki explains it thusly:

    https://arrow.fandom.com/wiki/Zari_Tarazi
It seems like a way of distancing the character further from DC's Isis/Adrianna Tomaz. Or maybe it's just that Tarazi is a more authentic Iranian surname ("Tomaz" being an attempt at de-Westernizing Andrea Thomas, Isis's original name on TV).

When Natalie left John, she said she was going to New York, so I assumed that was where Astra got her American accent.

Ah, that's what that was. I figured that was meant to connect to something, but I wasn't sure what. I had thought maybe it was a set up for her to be off on her own mission next week.

Yeah, I was expecting that to be more or a plot point, but they ended up not doing anything with it.
The stuff with Marie Antoinette was a nice way to bring Zari into the team, but for me the real highlight was Constantine's story. This really gave us some nice looks at more of his backstory, and they even worked Mucus Membrane into it, which I know is a bit part of his backstory in the comics.
Seeing Ava as interim captain was also pretty fun.
