Picard has demonstrated he's a man very much defined by his personally constructed colossal self-righteousness. This is a guy who goes toe to toe with beings who demonstrate godlike powers and expects to win. As the saying goes, "the bigger they are, the harder the fall".
Seriously?! This is just a bit over the top.
The more the abusive relationship of theirs is pointed out, the more I feel, that we will see Narek switching sides at one point. In spite of the episodes so far clearly trying to paint him as the villain, which makes it all pretty intriguing, actually.

Picard is still the same in this regard. The only thing that has changed is how the universe treats him. Of course people won't listen to him anymore if his reaction to his failure is to go off to his château to stew in his own juices for fourteen years. After that, he's never again going to be a Cincinnatus who'd get called back from the plow because Rome needs him.
Sorry, but no. Picard absolutely swallows his pride when lives are at stake and is never one to allow petty grandstanding or his own ego to get in the way of doing the right thing.

Demonstrating absolute candor, I say that some points are more valid than others.

There have been a number of occasions where it's been made explicit he's needed other people to point that out to him.
So Picard, knowing it was wrong, knowing it was in violation of his personal truth, was going to swallow that pride and do what he felt was criminal?
I don't even know how to reply to that without getting in trouble, so I won't.
Meh, doesn't have the same aesthetic and melody. But then, which language is comparable to german regarding elegance?

I just love Picard's taste in clothes this episode.
You mean that time when he went all Captain Ahab on us?
That's one of them, yes.
Which in and of itself was a break in Picard's character because he had the opportunity to strike the ultimate, complete revenge on the Borg by sending Hugh back in with the virus/etc to destroy the entire collective..but did not because it was wrong..
To then wanting to wipe out the Borg at any cost in FC? Inconsistent...but it made for *great* drama

I think its understandable, its easy to take the high road when there is no direct immediate threat.
In comparison having the Borg anywhere near Earth in the past with no support was squeaky bum time.
Fair enough...I guess it's the difference between fighting someone 100 miles away vs in your back yard
