Actually yes. DiCaprio deserved his too.
John Williams already won an Oscar for scoring the original SW. He hasn't won again for scoring in that series, despite having been nominated a total of five other times (altogether six times, for all of the OT and all of the ST; never for the PT, incredibly).Joker also won best score, beating out the mighty John Williams. No Oscars at all for star wars.
I wonder what happened with the pt. It was some of his best work.John Williams already won an Oscar for scoring the original SW. I am only disappointed that it had to happen at the expense of John Williams' last Star Wars score. Would've been nice to see him win with his first and last.I was convinced he'd win all the other awards then lose the big one (like Keaton or Rourke) so I'm happy to have been wrong. Happy also to see a win for the composer, the score was excellent.
A good question... for another thread.I wonder what happened with the pt. It was some of his best work.

You're wrong.Another DiCaprio situation, then.

Phoenix won. Two Oscars for the Joker character. That has to be on some sort of list.
Wait a minute? Phoenix won, and the planet is still here and rotating...
What a rip off.
