It was an Oscar-winning dramatic actress phoning in a throwaway role that could have been played by anybody. It's akin to Sean Penn appearing in a Marvel movie.
She chose to do it. So, perhaps there is an assumption of insult when none is actually present???
AfterM*A*S*H* is too. I've been meaning to check out at least one or two episodes on there, but I haven't yet. I'm to young to have watched M*A*S*H* when it originally aired, but I've watched the whole series more times than I can count on channels like FX and MeTV. I've never seen a single episode of AfterM*A*S*H*, but I am curious about it.
I keep reading about AfterM*A*S*H so I would be curious to check it out.

Yeah, Disney has a pretty good relationship with the press. It would be a shame for Sean Penn to jeopardize that by, y'know, ASSAULTING them! :p

Glenn Close, Robert Redford, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Robert Downey, Jr., John C. Reilly - all Oscar-winning or nominated actors in Marvel movies.

Let's not forget about Cate Blanchett, Jeff Bridges, Brie Larson, Michael Douglas, William Hurt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Kingsley...
Heck, if we're folding the Sony movies into the MCU, we can add Jared Leto to the list.

It's not merely getting an Oscar which makes certain roles a waste. But to go from LORENZO'S OIL and DEAD AN WALKING to a flimsy transparent ''role'' in SPEED RACER strikes me as slumming a great talent.

Glenn Close's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY role is equally thin. Give them something more decent to do.
That's a valid criticism (albeit not one I agree with) but, again, that's not insulting.

I'm a bit surprised to see him doing a series rather than one of the movies. They have said the movies and shows will crossover, so I guess there's a chance his character could also show up in a movie.

Here it is for all three of them (Loki, too!):

Wanda is wearing the classic leotard and head-thingy in a very fast shot!

And a very pregnant belly in her '60's hippie' phase. So looks like we're throwing the twins (Vin and Viv?) in there too!

EDIT: CONFIRMED. A quick glimpse of 80's Wanda/Vision looking down at TWO cribs!!!

Wow, that was an awesome surprise during the Super Bowl! I was so hoping they'd show something from WandaVision, but was holding out no hope at all for anything from Loki, so that was a complete surprise.

The WandaVision footage is getting most of the attention, and rightfully so. That show is going to be so cool. But don't overlook Loki. At first I was wondering what the significance of the "TW" logo was on his attire, but then it was pointed out to me that it actually said "TVA". And while it would have been cool if Loki was taking on Time Warner, when I learned that it was actually TVA instead I literally jumped out of my chair, because I am a HUGE fan of Walt Simonson's run on Thor.

I'm ready for Falcon & Winter Soldier. Is it August yet? Impossible to tell from a mere 10-15 seconds of footage, but it looks like it will end up being much more of a straightforward action show than WandaVision and Loki will end up being. The super quick shots we saw from that particular show certainly looked good. Big screen levels of quality good.

I can't wait, I'm ready for some more MCU. That commercial worked!
