Not sure if this has been posted before or not, but a bit of interesting trivia: Tamlyn Tomita - the actress who plays Commodore Oh also played Daniel's love interest in Karate Kid II.
Only a "few" things.... I haven't seen KKII in so long that I didn't even make the connection. I did, however, recognize her most recently from Man in the High Castle.
And if one were to judge her based solely on her B5 role in the pilot, one would think that she couldn’t act.
I believe that her B5 and Trek characters have one thing in common... Spoiler: B5 They are both deep cover spies/traitors. We know Oh is, since she's Romulan. And I believe Laurel Takashima was also intended to be a traitor on B5, since in "The Gathering" the assassin breaking into Del Varner's quarters is using her ID code. Plus, Takashima would be in an ideal position to overlook the breaching pod latching onto the station, and she knew exactly when Kosh's ship would be docking (so she could have him killed) Fun fact: Takashima was supposed to be B5's Control (the implanted Psi Corps personality) but when Tamlyn Tomita left the cast, that role was reassigned to Talia Winters. Takashima was also going to be the one who shoots Garibaldi in the back.
I knew I recognized her, and it was bugging me until I realized she was the original XO on the BABYLON 5 pilot movie, THE GATHERING. She was also in about half a dozen episodes of EUREKA, did a couple apearances on STARGATE-SG-1, and was one of the leads for the first half of the single season run of THE BURNING ZONE. (I doubt anyone here would remember that show, especially since I've never seen it on dvd nor is it on any online outlet I know of, but it also starred Jeffrey Dean Morgan. It was one of those UPN shows that aired when the network first started... I think it aired during the second season of VOYAGER.)
About that B5 spoiler, since it didn't actually happen and was only in JMS' outline and what he has talked about over the years, I don't know if it counts. Though the writers of PICARD likely know the story, so maybe they did keep that in mind.
PTEN version with looped dialogue, yes. The TNT version restored her original takes and she came across noticeably better.
To be fair, most people look really good in a naval uniform (or most military uniforms, anyway)... or is that just me?
