I drew this on my iPad using Procreate.

Outside of the animated series, we've never seen Robert April. I based this drawing on his appearance in TAS and tried to make him a bit younger; also changing his hairstyle. I had a lot of fun doing this!

It's a really fun idea to see the 1701 captains side by side, I think you've got the likenesses down really well. The only thing I might change is to alter Pike's skin tone a bit: That red makes him look like he has spent a week on Vulcan without suncream.

He went to Vulcan to look for the captain that Discovery never picked up.

Thanks! I'm really fascinated by Robert April. I always imagined him as being the, sort of, Jean-Luc Picard of his day; a diplomat, explorer, but most importantly: a mentor. I visualize him as a man who loves the center seat and had many, many years under his belt; almost like one of those old salty sea captains from the 1800s.

I made some modifications to April; evening out his right eye as well as changing the tone of his uniform. Per the suggestion of someone above, I made Pike's skin look less sunburned, lol, and took down the boldness around his eyes. And with Kirk I made his hair color a little darker. Before, it looks like his head was ablaze.

Thank you! I was thinking of doing more with Captain April - especially the uniform. I had some ideas about it still retaining one or two things from the Enterprise era before going fully to what we see in Discovery/TOS. It could be something small, like, perhaps there's a patch still on the arm or perhaps the rank stripes go down the shoulders.

I like the idea of a mission patch on the shoulder. Maybe a name tag like they did with the uniforms on Enterprise's last episode?
