If Jean-Luc was real I'd send this picture to him right now. He'd love it! (I will forever be miffed by TNG tuning down his French pride so quickly. I mean I get why they didn't want to go down the "It was invented in Russia" road, but I for one think it would have been hilarious if they had had it show up at times. I mean really, "Code Of Honor" is an AWFUL episode, but I adore Jean-Luc's quiet death glare outrage when Data calls French an "obscure language".)

I'm really pleased by this, I've always been THAT GUY who reminds people that Jean-Luc is French, not British. Sir Patrick has said that this time they made sure Jean-Luc actually gets to speak some French (he didn't seem to remember that TNG already HAD several scenes where Jean-Luc spoke French/sang in French) - I think it's a great little nod to the first few TNG episodes where they made Jean-Luc's French pride shine.

'Star Trek: TNG' Honest Trailers did call Picard 'The most British Frenchmen in the galaxy' (around 3:04) to note the contradiction
